Hi all,

I just bought this guitar and found something weird. while trying to setup my guitar i noticed that i couldnt stick an allen key into the truss rod for turn it.

i'm not too sure if a allen key had broken and the piece lodged in it or its designed this way and adjusting the truss rod is done with another method.

Sorry for the poor quality of the pic. here it is. Hope you are able to see the middle of the truss rod.

The center of the truss rod is covered with a piece of metal, hence i'm unable to stick an allen wrench in it.....

Anyone with info on this?
Btw, it's a 80's MIJ burny les paul custom.

cheers!
:)

The picture is a little too dark, can you use flash with it? or shine a torch or something inside the cavity.

For an allen key to snap, someone must have used a lot of force.

glad you have it solved, it is the one I on stew mac I showed you.

Didn't know it was also called a box wrench, they usually go by the name hex wrench or bolt wrench.
