The DR Titefits I use, usually last for about 3 weeks, then after that, they totally lose whatever shine, and by the 4th week, all black. I play too much, daily, a couple of hours.

One thing is chemical makeup, 2nd thing is ....

DR Stringlife.

That thing helps a TON. Available @ Davis or Maestro (diff brand).

I did a "test", play then wipe down stirngs with a plain cloth, no Stringlife. Next day, the strings had visible tarnishing, and felt slightly rough.
Used Stringlife, it postpones this effect a lot.

Perhaps you might wanna try a bottle, its pretty exp, around 18 bucks, but it lasts a long long time if you are careful with it. Tends to leak.

what are some of the more renowned hardware shops u all go to?

where're are they? lol hard to find them leh... what kinda shops sells many different types/brands of screws?

I just walk down to the shops in Tampines Mart. No? Blk201 area. No? Tampines Central. If still no, then City Hall. If still no, then online order the part.

I get all my screws @ a simple hardware shop in Tampines. Its just a screw!!!!

Those titanium, cyrogenically treated screws are only available @ obscure places like... Edder's home.

thanks cow. i shall go test. been stuck to standards for too long now. recently tried snake oil strings. last really long but had this really odd smell on the fingers after playing. but it seems snake oils can only be gotten thru direct order.

Typical pickguard screws have tat dome top that is NOT that very available at hardware shops.

Go to Davis and buys some or wait till one fine day when I feel like it, I'll pack up all the stainless steel screws that I have and sell em for a million bucks.

They're cryogenically treated, electron microscoped tested for perfect molecular grain, weights exactly 3.142g, each and every screws are laser etched with their own unique serial number and have GPRS tracking device built into its unobtainium core.

Guess where I got the screws from?

ANG MO KIO!!! WHERE ELSE YOU CAN GET DEALS LIKE THIS!!!

I wanted to try snake oils too but i figured, I'm getting more value for money with my DRs, plus I'm very satisfied with their tone.

Oh that Stringlife thing? No smell, perhaps a very slightly oily feel but not like FastFret.

Will I have tone like no other if I install them into my Ibanez Saber?

Yes you will. But before you buy the screws from me, I'd need you to sign an indemnity form and you must provide up to date current GOLDEN EARS TEST report.

If you don't understand what the test is all about... you're unworthy of my screws.
