Best sounding Guitar effects - floorbased

Chan Minny Chan...

My guitarist in a pop band got the RoadReady Case (i think like yours), all PACKED with shit. Hes got 2 expression pedals, a mesa preamp, Route66, tuner, dunno what other kok pedals, and a Guitar Bug. Now THATS heavy. Next time he ask me to carry i will RUN far far away!

When you wanna go City music? I want to go hamtam their Hartke...

hi chanmin..

if u nid more info abt the gt8 u can go www.bossgtcentral.com
tons of info there to help you..
i got a gt8 around like 2 mths ago.. i like it alot den my podxt i used to have.. but in the fes few weeks i assure u.. you will think u waste ur money..LOL.. its realli complicated and packed with tons of functions.. i dunno you will like anot.. i e-mailed and asked sweelee b4.. it costs i think 687 or 787.. i forgot.. sry..

well i liked my pod 2.0 quite abit... the sounds i got were pretty ok ... but i recall sounding really bad at gigs cus i didnt do those cab simulations...etc.. room volume patches sound really bad at high volumes.

will test out the stuff in citymusic soon.

kelvin!! set la one day we go down... hows monday?

nonono tmrw!!!!! im having holidays now la.. thought of bringing my guitar down and try the pod XTL and tonelab se.

Tell me how the Hartke goes man, I kena grounded until Wednesday hahaha... :(
Anyway, Sweelee doesn't stock much digitech stuff right?

i'll recommend Digitech's GNX 3, 4 or 3000.

i heard tonelab not suitable for hi-gain music..read lot bout it in reviews..

widely used arnd the world, line6 and digitech both fun to use..strong customer support..neverending patches, supportive forums..

Boss GT8? try go to their website..

try compare digitech, line6 and boss in terms of tone & aftersales support.
i'll go for digitech coz they balance things well. im using GNX3. Good for live. Juz be prepared before gig. find out wat amps the organiser provide then plan ur patches/settings in advance. Just go to their forums and u'll know more.
i've yet to try GNX3000. must be damn good due to its dbx preamp and components based modeling (CBM).

personally i tink the best floorbased have to be the GNX series.

I use the tonelab se myself. There's an ad hoc user support group you can join in yahoogroups. Also vox has unsupported patch editing software avaliable from their website for you to dump and load your patches via midi. A bit old school but it works.

I think you'll like it, it has a more natural feel than the Pods imho.

best thing to do? Get a friend who owns GT8, GNX or other makes and models.

Let them show you their tone, and how versatile it is.

Sometimes reading the reviews, everyone say this good that good.. but when you actually go to the shop, you will be too stressed to take your own sweet tiime and test...

therefore, i think that is the best way. Unless of course you know people there and they are very willing to help educate you on the prowess of the product.

Yeah man....
I agree wif superak...

Someone did ask in a forum bout gt8 and pod xt live....

I did mention to dat guy dat u can come to my place and try personally my gt8 ....u can also bring ur axe or some gear wif u.

To those wana try....pls pm me so we can arrange a for u to try the gt8.

Well u hv to try personnally and feel for ur self if it suit ur preference....

But not jus dat.....u must be comfortable to tweak some tone or setting...u do not want to be frustrated .....u wana ur efx to be user frendly....
ez to edit n tweak.

haha my vote will be on the Line6 podXT Live, the Boss GT6 and 8, depending on your budget and what kind of sounds u're looking for.

If u've really got the cash, go for seperate pedals and chain them up and put a line selector at the beginning! *my dream*

haha... well i tried both the vox tonelab and pod xt today... must say the pod xtl really dulls in comparison to the vox tonelab se... the effects and cleans really do sound great on the pod... but the distortions and overdrives on the tonelab were damn power man ...

so here i am $700 poorer...

Yeah POD XT Live is kinda CMI. Line6 should stick to the tonecore stompboxes and the assorted modellers for live sound and dedicate the POD series to recording.
