gt-8 , line 6 XTL , tone lab , digitech , zoom .... im not a big fan of these amp modeling things... but i really need sumthing compact and good sounding.

heard good things about the gt-8 and xtl any other models i missed out?
will be using for gigging and jams , either thru PA or amps.. so need something versatile, easy to use and solid as a tank.

my pedal board is proving to be extremely heavy. so will only use it when i only need a few good tones. Current gigs all need versatility so.. i guess its time to buy a new toy! or buy a slave to carry my amp, pedals and guitars!

Well, the new Korg Toneworks Ax3000G is out. Might wanna give that a hit at luthermusic. Comes with free gig bag, weight about 3.87kg if I'm not mistaken.

will do thanks. tried the ax1500g long time ago... the distortion cannot make it man... main thing for me is the tone...

Try the Tonelab SE man...it's got a tube! ok la that's no guarantee that it'll sound great. But still, do try it out.

Back when I used the ax1500g, I bypassed the distortion and amp cab sims, and instead ran Ds-1 -> Mt-2 -> Ax1500g . Very nice tone. Imo.

hahaha one tube like abit... gimmick le... nah ... got tube means easy to break and it also means $$ to replace...

i just need something decent to gig and jam with... save myself the trouble of moving my pedals and/or amp for the "dream gig"

holy crap. i take back last comment on tone lab SE .... been listening to alot of recordings done by the different units... tonelab se's sound is nice man ... must try... muahahah..

where can i test the gt-8 and tone lab se?
i know XTL is at city music... but not very into XTL...

there's a Zoom G2 that's out. and a G2.1 with the expression pedal. no idea how it sounds, but definitely quite a buzz on the internet. check it out at citymusic man. :)

hmm... for me i kinda given up searching for the dream all-in-one multi-effect pedals. so far those i've tried, signal isn't totally clean even in bypass mode... it many not be noticable to human ear, but when u chain up more (external) effects the difference is relatively significant.

no wonder ppl like satriani is still using stomp boxes...

my multi-fx is still left with one impt task though...its still a good chromatic tuner

i know XTL is at city music... but not very into XTL...

the shop at peninsular near guitar77 have gt8 juz in case swee lee doesnt have stock...its beside the acoustic shop...maybe shud do ur research first n know the thing well before goin there...dun really think they are that reliable....

the people who really know their stuffs are the guys from citymusic...u may wanna buy xtlive or tonelab juz coz of the service n facts u get from them...

Boss single pedals are still the dogs of the effects world after more than 2 decades.

They get my nomination due to being the most widely applied pedals for novice and pros. Gets the job done.

Keeps tone and modulations analogue. Signal processing (delay, chorus, flange..etc) can be digital for modern music, but if you are playing old skool, analogue means a special unique character and tone. (Eg. BBD, tape echo....etc)

mmm......I still use a Korg1500, I configure 3 tones out of it, one a les paul thick sound using the brit distortion, one overdrive for blues, and one metal distortion. No comments for other multi-fx though, coz haven't use them before.

Single pedals are interesting but I don't have budget for a chain of those pedals right now :p I hope it's in the pipeline for me.......

single pedals do sound great individually... but they are expensive and heavy... i only have wah and 3 pedals and a tuner on my board and its already friggin killing my back.

is interesting that the tone labs tube is for the power section and not the preamp section... must try... but the stomp switches remind me of the pod 2.0 floorboard i used to have..

nvm. try liaoz then see how.
