Argh!!! I need to learn guitar proper too. I'm more of a singer. I've been messing about with guitar by myself and I play crappy. I've been writing songs accompanied by amateur guitar so it'll really help my song writing. You are classically trained, that's a wow!
The issue was that electrics do not have ready access to amplification.
It is not an electric only gathering.

its beginners gathering. Acoustic 1 side electric 1 side or both tgt.
Its about sharing and learning. doesnt matter which one u are trained in.

Yea electric dont have access to amp except for some. thats why mostly are acoustic.
