bass !

squire is made in korea with lower quality parts, n build but tts being general some of the squiers are superb, n yeah fender is the mother company of squire, its like gibson n epiphone.
P means precision, its the pickups shaped in the split p type to give the more bassy woody thump wheres the j means jazz it gives a more higher freq response, i prefer the p pickups coz i play fingerstyle n w pick at times rarely do slaps pops n watnots, but i think jazzes are great on their own right,
Like wat i said before try the bass first.
Microbass is a peavey bass practice amp great value for money,..

hey so wad abt the humbuckers pickups and the soapbar pickups ?

as far as bass is concern, there's no real difference. soapbars are mostly humbucking pickups. for P & J, I wouldn't really say that P pickups necessarily sound more bassy than J pickups. They usually do becos of the position they are located on the body.

so squire = budget fender? then epiphone = budget gibson ?

ah .... thanks alot chimera .. tts nice ... so when there is PJ means that that u can actually play both jazz and bass la ?? icic would u recommend e above mentioned yamaha or would u recommend getting e squire bass ? cos i was told by the cheater santa fe guy that squire basses were made in indonesia ... Defintely not worth it ... i hear swee lee has a pretty nice package $500 odd for bass beginners....

btw how to "try" e bass ? i dun even know how to play yet ! planning to buy then later learn ! btw how much is e microbass ? 150++ - 200 odd ?

yeah for p-j you can get both sounds, ummm yamaha or squire tts dependent on personal taste, the squires are korean made,.. at least the ones in swee lee are,.. the yamaha is also korean made,..
try a bass means whether ur comfortable with the shape, the weight, the thickness/width of neck , the sound,.. coz guitar/ bass are very personal instrument, sum would like one kind n one another..
Yeah the microbass 200 at sweelee
