heyy... new to this place here... heh was just wondering why dere was no forum dedicated to bassist... so why not just start one.. haha... willing to chat bout anything bass! :D

hi shinysnakepit

welcome welcome! ya, bass and guitar are under the same section.

was just thinking... bass should have a forum of its own... cos its a whole diff thing? bass + guitars :) just a suggestion...

ok, usually when such a request is made, i will need some show of hands.

lol.. i see i see.. thanks for replying to this thread SOFT! haha... c'mon bassists out there.. do ur bass some justice!

James, how many hands you need? I wanna see if its worth my time to spoof 20 accounts for the bass section to be born :D

- 1 !

a bass is a bass guitar after all what. but the guitar thread section appears to be getting crowded though

ELECTRIC BASS GUITAR bro :P

i m actually in between ... having a dedicated bass sub forum is good but kinda overlaps .

i mean , all the bass qns / bassists can engage one another better in a sub-forum , but

1) it overlaps with the guitar sub forum
2) double the administrative work and trouble for james

but the good points is tt

1) easier to get replies and info
2) bassists can group together to learn technique and all kindsa technical stuff together

I agree with you stars, the guitar forum seems to be overwhelmed with guitarists, and it's very seldom that I see bassists post there. Bass is not only limited to bass guitar, there is also the double bass, and that a generic bassist's role in a band is rather different compared to a guitarist. I think as soft grows, James should select people to be moderators to moderate certain forums, so as to reduce his workload.

Wah, ok, I'm with the suggestion. The guitar forum covering too wide for both Guitar and Bass, and sometime some tips(request or given) for bass easily flooded by other thread because of that...

+1!

hey man... firstly, i would like to say that the bass is not a guitar.. and it is an insult to bassists to call them guitarists... cos we are NOT! its a whole diff instrument, with way different capabilities.. and i agree with u on the good pts of having a dedicated forum, which is why i was hoping there would be one! :)
