Bass Amp Megathread

thanks. will be getting a better cab eventually. still doing my research. the VX210 is a stop-gap measure. pretty decent for the price that I paid for it though..

i need a headjob ;pp... 4x10 powering up by a A100 amp with the 15" as an extension cab. way under powered.

I think a tfb would sound great with hartkes. After all wasn't jaco involved in the production of both items?

Don't think Jaco was involved in the production of the Thunderfunk. The design is based on Jaco's favourite amp, with improvements of course.

Nonetheless, you have good point there with the Jaco correlation..

i am looking for something a bit smaller mico amp type thingy and looking for some guy to gutted the A100 and remove the 15" speakers and make it into a matching cab for the 4x10.

what kind of cab speaker arrangement u going for?

sounds like he wants someone to make him a 1x15 cab to pair with his 4x10..

lordie : have you checked out the LMII?
yup wanted to gutted out that 15" combo to a speaker cab so i can pair it as an extension to the 4x10.

i'ved checked out the F1 at davies, that time their LMII was out of stock, now i saw the LMII 800 tube.. omfg.. GAS. i think i wait a while to see when the LMII tube become available, another option is the Genz Benz or the GK MB-300

i think davis is quite ok as their prices are genrally fair and not ridiculously overpriced unlike some other sole monopoly distributor of brands shop here in sg.

tb is cheaper for sure. but the power voltage in tb is mostly 120v. not 240v and that wattage u need a massive power transformer which defeat the purpose of having a microamp.

RE LMII voltage -- No, it's not easily converted between voltages. It is supposedly only a resoldering of one or two points but there are no official diagrams out from Markbass. I emailed them and they mentioned something about European regulations prohibiting them from providing user-switchable 120/240v operation on their amps. The same applies for the Musicman HD amps which they manufactured several years ago as well, so I'm inclined to believe them.

Can probably send it to bro Goosonique or Malcolm Tan(OUCH!) to mod it for us, no?

Or maybe we have to ask the guitard section...
