Hi just a notice to let everyone know i went thru a bad deal.
This softie username guy Mesergod bought my explorer with the brand Santa Fe, supposedly for $350 we agreed upon. this guy named himself as Zul. So he asked me for a downpayment because he couldn't pay all at once and needs a guitar for his gig this sat... he met me on monday and paid me $230 for downpayment and i allowed him to have the guitar and he promised to return the remaining in a few days time... After 2 days he said the guitar got problem, and i called him to send it back to the original shop that sells this guitar brand and negotiate with the boss to fix the guitar for him free since the guitar was never serviced for sometime.
The boss fixed the guitar for him and made sure he played the guitar to check that it's fine. And i received a call from the boss and he complained to me stating that Zul attempted to cheat him for an extra cable set as zul said to him that he lost his cables which was suppose to be in the case. The boss said in the first place he didn't put the cables in the gig bag and got his friend to open their bags to check and indeed there was a set of cables in one of their bags... and zul was the only one carry a guitar among his peer. The boss was very turned off by his attitude. Come on how much is a set of cables? The guitar i sold to zul had no problem and he proclaimed the guitar sucked. He's just playing me out and not paying the balance...

hopefully to all softies just dun deal with downpayments but in full deal... i learnt my lesson... so just beware of this cheater...

Allen - told U before .. cash & carry / 1st come first served - no hassles afterdat ...

You know the irony here? The sub topic said " Guitar Heroes "

Okay okay, but yeah, you should have really took the full payment 1st if you don't know the other party. Well, there are all sorts of people.

Zul....

you should have been smart enough now to take downpayment..if he was that desperate he would ahve come up with the cash somehow

dang why must there be so many bad people in this world? oh well, i guess thats the way the cookie crumbles la. take it as a lesson and dont repeat them.

all these " i need the guitar for my gig/funeral and i'll pay you down payment" is all bull.
you want to buy it , you pay the full amount . And complaining about the guitar being bad and stuff...we don't own a company where by there's a return policy.

ALWAYS CHECK BEFORE PURCHASE
NO DOWN PAYMENT
CASH & CARRY

As simple as that.

People like that bugger just erode the trust we have for others. Guys, to avoid such mishaps, don't sell to anyone who cannot pay everything upfront. You can offer to rent him the guitar for the gig though!

Waiting terribly anxiously for Mesergod to step forward and behave like a man.

Got the guts to stage shit like this, yet no fuckin' balls to apologise/state-your-case-and-defend-yourself-even-though-people-would-still-flame-you.

Hence the term 'fast deal'. Pay the full amount and get the item. No such bullshit like installments, etc. Installments are for banks, etc. Not for something where there's significant risk.

Buying second-hand has its cons. The item might be in really shitty state and you'll only realize it after owning for sometime, and the seller is under no obligation to take it back or refund you. I don't normally like to buy second hand but I've bought and sold things over SOFT and G4C and fortunately these people were sincere, in fact making a loss by selling 2nd hand for the price they offered. Kudos to them! :)

But there are always immature people among the mature people. A minority, yes, but they are there. So there's always the risk.

When I was selling my floorPOD, I was requested to sort of 'loan' it out. Nothing against this person, he might have been sincere, but there's a big risk so I decided against it.

*To that person, sorry if I was too overly distrustful and/or you were actually sincere, but I can only do upfront payment deal. Hope you understand, had some bad experiences with other stuff elsewhere.*

I just realized something. Mesergod is quite active in the forums, never thought he'd turn out to be one of the immature ones.

Now that his actions have been announced, I'm seriously doubting he'll ever post again because no one's gonna be nice to him anymore. Just be more cautious, people. A member of a forum can easily get a new email address and a new account on SOFT, so banning him, etc won't really do much. So only way is to learn from experiences of others, and exercise caution.

hmm if you found out the item you bought was actually a fake/imitation good but the seller told you it was real/authenthic, will it still be possible to take action against him or like force him for a refund? Or do this type of "unofficial" or mutual deals have no obligations tied to it. like once the deal is done, its done. is there such a thing?
