twoteaspoon is back: A 20-year journey from the forums to Spotify

Hey everyone,

I was just looking at my profile and realized I joined this community on October 1, 2005. That’s over two decades of being a SOFTie!

I’ve been "MIA" for the last 10 years or so. In that time, I traded my late-night jam sessions for a career in tech and the chaotic joy of raising kids. But even after a decade away from the scene, the itch to create never really left.

I’m breaking my silence because I’ve finally done something I talked about doing back in the mid-2000s: I actually published my music.

I’ve put out a few tracks on Spotify that represent where I am today, covering a pretty wide spectrum:

  • Beautiful – An intimate, percussive acoustic track. This song has a special place in my heart as it was featured in the short film The Letter by Justin Kan many years ago. It’s finally "official."
  • Light Up The Night – A total 180 from my acoustic stuff. This is my take on a high-energy National Day anthem, full EDM pop production with a euphoric, festival vibe meant for a big celebration.
  • Home Is Where I Find You – A nostalgic acoustic ballad about family and belonging. Being a father now, the themes of growing up and "home" mean a lot more to me than they did when I first joined this forum back in the hey-days.
I’d love for the veterans who remember the 2005-era forums (and the new generation here) to take a listen. I’d value some honest "SOFT-style" feedback on the mix.

Check out the tracks here:
Looking forward to hearing what you guys think and reconnecting with the community.

Cheers,

Wow! Your production is totally top-notch. The arrangement, mix, and vocals are all so nicely put together. Did you write the lyrics too?
