Anyone listen to Whitesnakes?

John Sykes is one hella of a guitarist...the '87 album...basically he was a co-songwriter but was fired by Coverdale prior world release of that great album..

Yup...Most of e time this issue will always occur to most of e successful band i guess? But from what id noticed that eversince John Sykes left Whitesnake, it seems like the band was struggling for quite sometimes to find e right guitarist though....IMPO, The combination of Vandenberg & VAI guitar sound doesn't seems to be right with their concept so call heavy rock blues to me....

*The moral of e story is...In e end DC have no other choice
but to find someone that can makes e Les Paul sounds slightly similar to John Sykes which is Mr Doug Aldrich!!....
Yeah!....

whitesnake is damn cool lah but they've always been compared to Led Zep as tribute band. big hair, tight crotches and spandex! ultimate combo!

and then there's Coverdale/Page collab... wah seh.

Whitesnakes was one of the my favorite bands in my teens. The ever most popular song is Medicine Man. But those we the days...when expos are one of the main place to showcase rock bands in Singapore back then.

"a hard lovin woman like you, makes a hard lovin man"

i loved that freaking line.

whitesnake is one hell of a freaking underrated band. they have been called everything from led zep clones to deep purple clones. they bring out the hardrock in me thought. steve vai made they're solos imba

I love Whitesnake! 1987 is an awesome album - Sykes freakin' shredded! And the Slip of The Tongue album with Steve Vai is also totally outstanding.

Whitesnake nearly got me laid once when I was a teenager. I'd just arrived a university (I studied in UK) and I was in my room playing 'Is This Love' off 1987 quite loud (great solo). There was a knock at my door and there was this gorgeous blonde babe there called Anne Marie standing there looking extremely hot and babelicious. She said she loved that song and could she come in and listen to it with me. Being a proto-heavy metal nihilist at that time I kinda gave her a weird alienated stare but kinda grudgingly let her in and just mumbled during the time she was there, all the while she was chatting away, being very friendly and asking me about myself, music and kinda flirting. Later she asked me to make a copy of it which I did (tape to tape) and just gave it to her without saying a word and opened the door. What a dumbass! I was kicking myself later that I didn't pick up on any of the signals. Fail.

Check out my transcription of the heavy riff off Still of the Night here: http://gitbuddy.wordpress.com/2008/01/24/heaviest-moments-in-heavy-metal-1327/
