This sounds kind of stupid but i actually havent seen one of those other than in my home or the sweelee rack... so yea, anyone else here using an iceman?

The iceman is damn cool. I always wanted one. never got round to buying one. Always found something more interesting...

Yeah man i want an iceman too la... Especialy the Daron Malakian one, only 300 copies worldwide i think... really sexy guitar, plus i love Ibanez!

i'm kinda hoping this Iceman derivative would make it here (considering selected models in this series are avaialable) 8)

Based on the website Ibanez does make IC series (or Iceman) guitars but I haven't seen one locally in either Standard Value or Swee Lee. Unless a little-known underground shop may have.

It was nice until the X-shape came out, haha I kinda prefer that one to the Iceman.

Novocaine: Not surpising your guitar is still tip-top. Herman Li abuses his guitars, and they not only hold up but sound great. That's why I love Ibanez! Hahaha :D

Ps. I love Ibanezes too!

Hmm.

I've always been curious as to whether these explorer-based guitars are neck heavy...? Already owning a neck-diving SG and I really like the explorer-shaped axes.

it's nothing too mystical when it comes to the iceman, it used to be available @ swee lee, guess it's not a hot seller after all, no restock after it's sold off... btw, the latest iceman bass is in stock.

i don't see an explorer outline in the iceman, more of an exagerated single cut... 8)

ibanez was primarily a copy cat in the 70s, they have whatever gibson/ fender has to offer back then. they almost made it big when Van Halen embraced one of the Destroyer models depicted here:

subsequent to the exact outline of an explorer, ibanez issued a slightly different body shape in order to avoid further legal hot water:

Destroyer is a limited run guitar... its over liao. Its still in the website last year end. But disappear once 2007 kick off with the RG 20th anniversary and Vai limited edition model.

the final Destroyer model was the DTX:

it's a smaller bodied version of the Destroyer which is a member of Ibanez's X-series, discontinued in 2006, together with the smaller bodied iceman, the ICX:

the X-series prior to 2006, never made it to singapore unlike this year- we note the availability of the Xiphos & a brief appearance of the (lawsuit) V-blade. the ICX alternative for 2007 is the ADX pictured in my prvious post above, the DTX equivalent, is this ADD model, which IMO looks quite far off from a reputable destroyer make:
