Any Fender Jaguar owners?

it does affect some high frequencies roll off IF I CAN REMEMBER READING IT SOMEWHERE AND IF THAT IS A FACT AND NOT A FICTION...

heh heh....

Elias: the mute thing is beyond me man!

hey elias bro, bout the string mute, i remember reading from musicman forum long while back, the pre ernie ball musicman basses, used to have string mute as well and some people with those basses, kinda use some other stuff to replace the original one which kinda disintergrate over the years

Not sure if the info still available thou.

Heh, if not, find cobbler, see if they got some rubber to spare and cut the thing to size

Bro, jaguar dah jinak blm? :p Glad it's found a new home with a loving master.

+1 to CLAW IS TEH MOJOH

Bro... dah jinak dah.. u were right about the bridge pickups lah..
when in high gain.. squealed lah.. will be changing them soon.
thanks again bro.

just got my mustang bridge shipped from guitarpartresource. i must say, this is indeed a good simple 'mod' if i can call it. After setting up the intonation and height, i don't get any buzz than what the original jaguar bridge gave. haha. And after hard strumming, the strings still kept in place, in the grooves. I'm happy! haha
quarter pounds to come!

i have an american vintage 62 jaguar. my favourite guitar. imo, it's really the greatest guitar i've ever played. never looked back at my purchace.

isn't the treble of the bridge pickup the feature of the jaguar? I love the guitar stock. both treble and neck pickups.

thats one nice jag bro.. while ur's is the holy grail MIA, mine is the cheaper but still cool as hell MIJ jaguar..
their pickups are not wax potted like those MIA ones, hence at high gain or high volume, the brigde pickup will produce microphonic feedback, it squeals basically, so a pickup upgrade for a MIJ jaguar is highly recommend by many. Not saying that a stock MIJ jaguar isnt sweet sounding enuff tho. it just lacks that extra bite in it.
;)

hello good people

my reissued 62 taken with crappy camera phone

i installed a buzzstop and taped up the bridge assey poles so the bridge would stay still

strung with d'addario chrome 11 flats

i read that Elias has a lefty version of Fender Jaguar. Where can i get it?! Is it still available?

I check for the lefty fender guitars. Only strats and teles. Always wanted the Jaguar or Jazzmaster but could never find lefty versions. Not even the net laaaa

www.stringnet.co.jp
they have some strats and teles on the product lists that are LH version. not too sure about jags, but u can ask, ;)

Paiseh been out of action on soft for a short while...

But back to topic...thanks PatheinRaindropMoe fer the suggestion :) Actually can use the mouse pad foam as well :p But the main problem is that I'm lefty, and the mute available on the market is for righties...not sure how it'd fix my lefty jag *lol* But no worries...without or without mute, Jags still rock! \m/

Hey snottysnot, glad that the mustang bridge works for you. When the quarter pounders arrive, let us know how they sound yah?

Hatecrew, you've got a sexy Jag there (with the mute!!!) I totally agree that the stock pickups on the US reissue sounds really wonderful...that's why I swapped my Japanese ones with the US pickups on both my jags. I've heard they sound the most authentic to the original Jag tone...

Nice Orange amp and pedals, Pastor of Muppets! I didn't tape my bridge poles but instead, insert two tiny pieces of mouse-pad-like foams to cushion it so that they don't rattle...tremolo still works for me. Does your tremelo work when you tape your bridge poles?I used to string with d'addario chrome 11 flats too but realised it's a tad too hard to do bends and such on the type of music I play, so I switched to 10s with wounds (tho I love the smooth feel of flats and they last like, much longer than wounds)

Yo Flashjack, glad to see a fellow lefty! I got one of my jags from Ishibashi and another one from http://www.taniguchi-gakki.com/ where they sell ALL kinds of lefty guitars...fenders, gibsons, you name it...(that's where I got my lefty jag with block inlays and bounded neck). Taniguichi doesn't do overseas shipping tho...you can try vpost or get someone in Japan to help you purchase it for me...that's what I did...went to great lengths to get this baby).

Here's some pics obligatory pics of my jags *lol*

Did a neck swap to see how the block inlay neck looks on my sunburst jag.
(Jags before much modifications, save for the buzzstop and US pickups on the sunburst jag. You can see the the US pickups come with cream pickup covers compared to the stock white ones on the Japanese pickups on the white jag)

Jags after the mods (US pickups on the white jag, Hot rails, 3-way toggle switch, rewiring of control plates on the sunburst jag):

hello elias

you have very nice guitars.

i taped the poles very thinly with cellophane tape so that they fit snug into the assey slots. the bridge still sways so the the trem works.

i made a mistake in the previous post about the bridge staying still. what i meant was the bridge poles stay still

undressed jaguar bottom, master with fuzz circuit in it. If without that circuit, most prolly can fit another pickup into it and make it a poor man's fender VI..
