Any Fender Jaguar owners?

Hello PatheinRaindropMoe

ive toyed with the idea of getting a cheap MIJ jag to turn into a bass vi

i think if along with the third single coil, you dropped in a longer neck (30" if im not mistaken), use heavier gauges (may have to swap out the jag bridge to accommodate. you seem to have done this), and tune it an octave down (E-E), you will have a bass vi (closer to a baritone custom) in all but name. would be interesting to see how this works out.

cheers

quarter pounds in.

just got my CIJ Jaguar wired with SD Quarter pounds, both neck and bridge..Got the swap done at beez's.
I must say i'm glad i chose them Quarter pounds. It gives the Jag more midrange.. and sustain a lil bit better.
No more microphonic feedback from the bridge pups too!

thought i'd post some pics of my Jags. ( after learning how to do so, haha)

damnit, seeing you guyses with two jaguars makes me want to get another jag :p

tell me about your jaguar HH. what make and year?

My HH, is a CIJ,.. Serial no. starts with a T. Tried looking up Fender website.. and the serial no. for CIJ only run till 2005. I'm assuming mine is 2006 made.

Hahaha...no worries, Disco Ditto...you'll have to get past my giant pitbulls, know the password to my titanium vault and survive the laser field protection (Resident Evil style) to get to my jags :p

iwantdigimon...it's possible but it'll probably take a combination of pedals/amp/mods to achieve it. Most straight-forward way is to try using the neck pickup alone with a pedal of your choice and see if you like the results. But keep in mind it's still a single coil-guitar afterall.

I agree, there's a nice jazzy fatness on the neck pup, I ran it clean with nothing in between to an AC30 and it sounds exceptional on a Bassman 59 too.

That's cool. I am considering a jaguar for its range of tones that can be coaxed. Just need to carefully consider haha.. if I can coax a clapton-esque 60's tone out it, it will just blow it for me

I own a olympic white Jaguar Classic Player Special HH ... Its a beast. I got it because of its high gain, Sustain. Suitable for me playing puckrock / Grunge... Its got a heavy and fat tone aspecially when distorted and the sound doesnt break apart when its super distorted.... Crunchy... Love it.

Hi guys...any idea where I can I get the SD Quarter pounders locally?
Thinking of using JB JR on the bridge n Quarter pounder for the neck.
Any comments?
