Anyway, I do not think God exists. I admit I cannot be 100% certain but I am pretty much convinced. I do not see the need to explain myself because... I have faith in the non-existence of God. There. I said the word. You cannot win.

i'm speaking from true real life work experience.only in our island that i can greet you "merry x'mas" and you can say "selamat hari raya" to me without fear.

the fear that i see on the eyes of the innocent on the places that i mentioned would scare the living daylights out of any hardcore criminals here....and i know this firsthand.

it's even very hard to pee or whathaveyou without looking around-the threat of getting killed is very very real...now u pee,next u kaboom....

without satan, how would our faith in God be tested?

sure, He wants us to have as much faith in Him as possible, but as fair as He is, we're given a choice whether to keep faith in Him or to succumb to the desires/temptations of the evil one. without lucifer, adam and eve wouldnt have eaten the forbidden fruit, we wouldnt have the freedom of choice, the ability to discern right and wrong. heck, we prolly wouldnt even be here now.

lastly, with all due respect, i dont think yy_fuctup's posts are offensive in any way. this is an open debate, he/she has every right to speak with a certain degree of emotional expression as he/she wishes to, same applies to the content of his/her post.

We as the human race have every ability to stop the conflicts and senseless killing. But the perpetrators of violence choose not to. Every person killed in vain is an insult to any manifestation of goodness out there.

These allegations about YOUR God, or MY God are exactly what makes this debate so difficult.

Just because God does not raise a hand to stop suffering does not mean he's not there. One cannot take that as conclusive proof that God does not exist.

I ask you, even if there's merciless killing and slaughter overseas, it is easy for us over here to say that God does not exist and then not do anything about the injustices. But it is the people who have the faith, in the face of death, to go into the fray and try to help alleviate suffering, that are evidence that God's presence has manifested itself in even the most terrible situations.

Like Jeepers said, it really boils down to choice. If people choose to abandon God, there you'll find godlessness.

Like I said before too, God does not equal The Church, or Muslim leaders, or other religious heads.

God not being in your life does not mean that God does not exist in the lives of others. If your heart is closed and hard, what people usually do when they feel they need no one else, then it's logical that nothing's gonna manifest itself inside.

It would take a great amount of evidence to convince me of this, because everything in life screams to me that there is something greater than us that we cannot understand.

What evidence is there that God doesn't exist?
So much injustice?
So much killing?
So much hate?

How does that prove that God doesn't exist?

How about music? How about selfless love (i'm sure you've seen it, if you haven't, I have, and so have many people here, i'm sure)?

Your idea of justice may differ from God's, but everything he does, or avoids doing, has a reason that we will never understand. And it is because of human arrogance that sometimes we cannot accept that there are some things we just won't understand. But once humility has taken the place of pride, you will let God, greater than you or I, carry out his plans through yourself and others. You have a choice, of course, but if you choose anything else, usually it just feels really bad.

This is what I think. I hope you can at least listen and think about it. You don't have to accept it, though I'm hoping you will.

Just a little perspective on humility and understanding of the world.

We all believe the earth revolves around the sun, but in the past no one subscribed to that belief. The church advocated a geocentric model, where the entire universe revolves around the earth, simply because as humans and descendants of Adam and Eve, not being in the center was against the scriptures, and was opposed to this view to the extent that proponents of heliocentrism were usually branded as heretics, and back in those days, a heretic's life was usually short lived. You either listened to what the church had to say or you're condemned.

I have a friend who doesn't believe in God, but he goes to church every Sunday, think hes parents ask him go. I have another friend, who is indian, and an atheist, but he goes to the hindu temples and stuff, think his parents also ask him go. And I have another friend, who is an atheist and shit. Doesn't go anywhere.

They are all my bandmates, and they all have different views about religion and atheism.
I personally don't know wether there is a god or not. Like sitting on a fence la.. I wonder how many people are like me? don't take sides one. But i'm also not a free thinker la, alot of "free thinkers" are just too lazy to care, not because they really think free.

This world is kinda crazy now, I dont really know what to think anymore. alot of shit contradicting.

I was wondering, if anyone would like to share, if somehow, one day, you realise that
1. your beliefs all fake one, like no such thing as god or there is a god.
2. both also fake one.

also.. are christians allowed to listen to rock/metal. even black metal?

Hmmm... You know... If you're posting an argument, can you guys please keep it just as an argument of no malicious intention? It's just like doing History A Levels.

Prove and elaborate your argument. It isn't conclusive to just say "Christianity originated from Germany". Prove it to us. Show us your source. Tell us if it's reliable and trustworthy and elaborate why. Don't just believe in whatever you read or see on the Net. Find all your facts and get your facts to verify your argument. It's pointless and senseless to just state.

Anyway, this topic is just like a bottomless pit. There's no end to it. Anyone can believe that God exists. Anyone can also believe that God doesn't exist. Someone can also point out that he believes in Taoism or Buddhism.

There's no point getting so worked up because of clashing beliefs. Keep this thread intellectual.

It was SIN that first seperated man from god. Thats what is blocking us from god. But of course theres ONE way god provided for us to counter that.

Why god is a he? Its just used to call him. Like how we call a country a she or a boat she.

God created everything. He created the trees and apple trees. The garden of eden? What apple trees. FYI there were NOT apples...

Ha! In his own image. He? Now now. Aren't we being a little too chauvinistic? If God was really that just, why would he be a he? God isn't supposed to be "just" something to be called. The devil only exists because of God. There were apples.

He told the people what to write? You're just strengthening my point. The bible isn't his word. It is a second account and is hence deemed to be not as reliable.

To Soft, I don't see myself coming across as being offensive. I did not swear nor did I state any unjustifiable statements.

To fuzz, non-Muslims are only allowed to live there up to 6 months. Allah does mean to surrender.

bboy2388: Ohman, you got me all wrong. Haha. I do not think that god does not exist because he does not stop all the evil and hate in this world. I was just raising some questions for discussion. I know that it does not mean god does not exist just because he does not show himself and most importantly!! I know that there is absolutely no way I can say that god does not exist cause, currently, it is impossible to prove that. likewise, it is impossible to prove that god exists.

and (i do not know why you have to target me personally..), I am not arrogant in any way. I do know that there is a lot we (the human race) do not understand and may never understand.

however, I would like to ask you. How does music show the existence of god? How does selfless love show, in any way, the existence of god. do you mean love/music cannot exist without god? has it occurred to you how flawed your thought is?

all these merciless killing happening around the word in the name of god, are they blind or are they blind? some of them even claim to be instructed by god him/her/itself. when taken into another context, that would be considered "evidence" of god's existence ie god came to me in my dream and told me he loves me. but when suicide bombers claim that god asked them to kill, do we believe them?
