Advice on Overdrive pedals for good lead tone?

A little OT but on the Blackstar. How come it has 2 drive knobs?
lets just say its a pedal that i love to bits....................................

haha

however i dont use it to do lead... i prefer 'hairy' rhythm more

haha

I was wondering guys, if I can't be patient enough for any of those, will a Behriger Distortion/Overdrive do? Heheh :)

haha... i have the bad monkey... that i almost dont use...
its just sounds too.... bassy? yet.. i realised that when used as a booster.. it coloured the tone quite a bit... anyway... u wont want this if u want the a7x sound

yer need da baaddest monkey pedal.

A Tonefactor Hellbilly.

Or how about that Barge Concepts DB-2 boost pedal? 54dB of boost. It should kill your solid state too.

thats badass!!! the barge concepts is an insane pedal...
well... the best kinda way to get the a7x sound is to over drive the amp distortion...

u can get the protone mach 2 booster.. its a dirty boost, which adds fuzz like textures to the sounds.. colours your tone somewhat, add's a lil more to the bass frequencies and adds quite a bit of saturation to your distortion...

much better than the zakk wylde overdrive which i find piss weak...

haha, even if its mesa and if you think you like to have some pedals to boost or shape the tone. Why not?

Afterall, the gear is solid piece of machine, pretty much useless without the touch of the one playing and leading the direction its going too..

Any one tried doing a TS-9DX moding it with a switch that can switch between a ts9 and a ts808 sound? i did was great..thumbs up for randolf again!

something like this? I think this one is over the top, but defintiely interesting.

Can check out Marshall Bluesbreaker 2. Warm natural overdrive, harshier than a TS-9. Selling at Davis for 90+.
