6, 7, 8 Strings in the Making

Volute time, currently it's just a chunk of wood.

Cut down to thickness.

Taped to control damage.

Almost done.

Cut the neck down with various tools.

Crunch lab, Air Norton, Orange cap, BKP CTS pots, Sperzel locking tuners and a tusq nut.

I have to put the pickups in the body today.

Plywood plate to allow me to route near the fingerboard.

Bridge pup time...

Fit them upside down because the ears are not done yet.

Then the ears go down!

Forearm contour. I decided make it slightly closer to parallel than the ones on an RG.

Rough lines drawn, then I went freehand with the router,

Plane to flatten.

Back contour, same procedure.

This creates an opposing curve, I like it a lot!

Test-fitted the pickups and bridge for an idea of how close I am.

The contours looking very cool!

The back still isn't done.

Put the knobs and stuff on to confirm the look

Maple top! For drilling through, so as to reduce tearout with hand drilling with a huge bit.

Holes done.

Freehanded the cavity on the back.

The guitar is almost done, just need to install the bridge, frets, tuners and wire up the pickups.

bro u used a trimmer as a bench press to drill the tuner holes?.. scary thing to do.. haha..

btw checkout Marco Sfogli's signature at Rashguitars,.. kinda like the control switch setup.. im be modifying my washburn x10 to the extrme looking forward to a marco sig look..

My trimmer happens to handle it quite well.

Monday I oiled the guitar.

Back first.

A little tung oil.

It dried the next morning.

Done! That was really fastforwarded but fret filing isn't a job you wanna be distracted during, so not many useable pics.

Wiring's the only thing left.

Strings on!

Yeap it's done.

Specs:
Macassar Ebony fingerboard on walnut/maple neck-thru with Ash Wings.
Air Norton, Crunchlab Humbuckers.
Sperzel Locking tuners, Tusq nut, Gotoh Flatmount.

A short update about what I'm working on for Mr Randolf Arriola:
Klein/Steinberger Headless neck replacement.
Madagascar Rosewood fingerboard on Burmese Rosewood Neck. All quartersawn for stability.

Here's the situation I'm at now, the 6 is done, the Stein is in progress, the wood has been prepared for my next 2 neckthrus.
