$30 fine for eating sweet

Hai yah never ending story ... No one complains that they cant bring water up on board aircraft ....

SMRT and most of its staff are plain rude and retarded, but it's not like we have any alternative.

How else to get to NTU from Pasir Ris?

Just because we're at their mercy doesn't mean we're supposed to listen to their shit

One day someone's got to video these unreasonable staff in action and post it up as proof

SMRT needs a PR disaster to happen and get ridiculed nationwide....before they wake up.

totally agreeed....

Singapore is a fine country no doubt about that. But its too fine that all of our freedom is stripped away. Plain clothes 'Law Enforcers' who catch on people littering. *got a friend who kena fine 300 bucks for literring a PIECE OF TISSUE*

Eating sweets $30 fine. RIDICULOUS LA! and why with all the 300, 30. All the THREE'S.?

Laws are there to be followed, but too many of them is just too much.

didnt watch the show la what to do.. and yeah just follow law...!

btw the wall of text was awesomely funny. If i we're the person, i'd walk away, take a huge sip, gulp it down and put my hand up in the air and shout, YEAH lovelovelovelovelove! the police will still take time to come and if they do, im sure they have better things to do than to go around the mrt asking commuters "Hi have you seen someone drinking bubble tea?"

Everyone would answer, " THeres a bubble tea shop round the corner there are lots of people drinking bubble tea there. Maybe u can buy one for yourself and you can be the culprit too"

I didn't watch that movie either but the quote does seem to suit this conversation very well on why people are following the law when it's pretty nonsensical. I think to me, eating on the train is 'okay', provided they are candy, chocolates, plain water, as long as they don't smell (no burgers, durians, meat, thingy) and don't make a mess or leave an unwanted stain (Coke, Pepsi, Ribena, etc). And as long as they keep the wrappers and throw them away later and not litter on the train.
