anybody knows how much a 505 or 606 costs at citymusic? or anybody has one to sell? thanks. and yes dont come tell me there are better pedals im under a budget

Have you tried out the Zoom606 yet? A personal experience of mine regarding the zoom606.

I bought a Zoom606 2nd hand partly because it was a cheap multi-effects pedal and i thought it was somewhat valued for money. Initially it sounded great (partly because I biased to a new gadget), but I soon realise that it sounded really bad, noisy and digital. ( I lost interest in playing for 1 week because I spent most of the time trying to get a good sound and fiddling around with it)

I got tired of tweaking around and I plugged my guitar directly to my amp. Boy, I suddenly realised how much I took my amp for granted. It sounded so much better comparatively to the Zoom606 sounds. The Zoom606 sucks all the tone out of your guitar. I played straight in from my amp and the difference was crystal clear.

Needless to say I sold my Zoom606 after 1 week and bought an OD-3. My advice to you: Filter out what sounds you really need and get 1 or 2 single stomp boxes. The price you pay for the zoom comes with a lot of other wierd bizarre sounds you won't be using very often

Regards.

The distortion on my 707 is a bit too digital for me, bought a DS1 for my distortion needs. And realise how bad the 707's distortion was after comparing it with my ds1. As for wah, the wah pedal on the 707 cannot make it.

ZOOM's multi FX pedals are value-for-$$ products, really, but their distortion patch is seriously lacking. if you insist on a budget multi-FX for experimental purposes, you'd do well to select from the KORG/ Digitech brand name.

Zoom GFX-8

Im using a Zoom GFX-8. Not bad, but like wat sub says, the distortion is seriously lacking.

I tink beta use Tube Amp beta :)

funny....i guess i'm one of the few people who actually like zoom's distortion sound...i'm using gfx-4.....i've had some good feedback bout my dist sound during gigs(with different types of amps) though.... and they couldn't believe i was using a zoom product......well i guess diff people have diff taste......

I don't deny that Zoom distortion is of certain standard, but once you get hooked onto Tube amp distortion, it's totally a different feel imo :)

Well.. Can Anybody tell me What is the different between zoom 707 & Zoom 707II?? Not by the physical looks lar.. :smt044

Let me just add one more reason not to get the 505 or 606; construction quality.....play on it often enough and u'll realise the expression pedal gets sticky and the jacks would start to loosen......i actually went thru a 505 and 2 2nd hand 606 in my first 2 yrs of playing becoz of these problems

i would recommend the 707II if you're really on a budget. basically the 505II, 606 and GFX-1 are the same thing just that they have different mode of operation. they don't really a controllable EQ but rather a PRESET EQ for you to choose from instead of you tweaking it.

my friend uses a 707II with a dimarzio pickups which i've no clue what it is and it can produce really good metal tones. And yes, it will sound a little digital.

i have a GFX-5 and m still trying to figure it out ... i'm having this prob where by the volumn dont balance out once u switch pedal.

distortion wise, it has a few to choose from and if u dont like em, u can edit them ...

overall, at $280/- i think it's quite worth it

adjust the "level" for the patch and make it that all patches have the same volume. use ur ears instead of the number appearing. as the clean usually will sound softer. This is what happen when i use GFX8 last time.

:?: hmmmmmmmm me gfx 707 i used no much problem i encounter .mmmm going deaf i am maybe..hahahahah maybe coz i download patches heheh

i've tried that but dont seem to b able to get it rite ... cud b my sense of hearing ... i lvl up the 1 clean patch, 1 semi-distort and 1 distortion. when i m using the semi-distort with control pedal vol, ok. once i switch it to clean patch, the vol just went UP ... have to step on the control pedal up/down/slow up again ...
