zakk

yeap... it sounds just okay... might be the emgs. :)

Give him some passives and he might sound better... or those lower output emgs...

i tink he was using da Epi version of his guitar and it is passive pups.... :D

Its always nice to see great guitarist using "commoners' " guitar and still plays great.. It gives us the passion to think hey, gear is not as important as we think!

I should rephrase that...

Give him some good passives and he might sound better.

I didn't enjoy the tone... but it is his preference...

Dude,
You don't have to be "better" to comment on something. You don't have to dance to say a dancer has performed poorly. You don't have to be a chicken rice cook to tell that chicken rice seller his chicken rice was poorly prepared. You don't have to be LKY to comment on government policies.

Well I disagree to a certain extent(regarding good passive pickup).

This is a recorded clip. (A clip is recorded for sure what!!!)

The variables
1) Micing
2) Recording
3) Transfer from source to dvd to convertor to youtube.
4) Amp settings
5) Fill in the blanks.

Sometimes tone is all in the recording.

Of course Zakk may just like that sound!

We emphasise too much on gear man....

On a side note: Zakk seems to like to use a lot of cheap "tricks" like thrilling on the same pattern repeatedly. Hey don't flame me! I like Zakk when he was with Ozzy!

Correct man... I was discusing with Edo83 on the tone... haha... we were all speculating on what might be what might not be... was it digital efx? Line in? His signature wah in use? Was the Epi/Gib/Guitar zhng-ed already?

But i thought the tone had this emg-ness to it. Could very well be efx. Very 80s processed tone.

But musician want to thrill the crowd more or other pros more?

I don't know whats cheap skill but hm, even cheap clothes can make you shine.. 8)

LETS MAKE THIS A ZAKK WYLDE AND BLS THREAD!!! i love this...and sleepy kitty u owe me dinner for posting that vid without telling me!!!

To be fair, since this clip was from Guitarist(seen at the end), I'm assuming it was for a column for a novice->intermediate player to learn his style. So, while it is not overly technical to play, it has a sweet melody to it. Sometimes, less is more. :D
