[WTA] Markbass LM II & Genz-Benz shuttle 6.0

You're mic'ing up your bass amp for recording? Why don't you consider using a good DI instead. Something like the REDDI is extremely good for recording.

Or consider the EBS microbass. Its very useful with the effects loop on it. Very good quality DI on it too. (No, i'm not selling mine.. =)... )
eh i am a bit old school. was looking to buy the microbass II for the past 2 mths was going davies often but they sold out :(

Nothing wrong with micing up a bass amp when recording... even for live shows I specify mic+DI on my tech rider because there are some things you can't get except by close-micing a 15" cone with an EV RE-20 or Sennheiser MD421 (which works better than an AKG D112 in my experience) :)

Of course, when playing live the finer points will get lost in the overall mix, which is why it's not a big thing if I'm not miced up live – as long as I have my REDDI handy, everything's fine.

wat's mic-ing up? =\

heh, i'm lyk chasing this thread cause there's lyk a lot of pros discussing stuff here.
haha

most of my recording i did is mic up. i tried DI, i just dun like the results as when u mic it. a good mic will give a bit more 'air' to the tone, sounds more natural, etc..

as for live? DI works great and the bass amp is just a monitor.

cherns whats the price on the EA 500 watts? and availability?
