Hey, want to start this after i got a REAL bad attitude encounter at a shop that sells Cameras' products just outside Peninsula Plaza, facing the Funan side.

Goes like this : The other day,on a Sat , I went to the same shop in casual street wear clothings and thought the products were pretty good but something that bugs me was Some Middle aged guy who apparently was working in that shop too. He was Standing at the entrance/exit of the shop(the shop got no doors so to speak) minding his own bussiness looking at caucasian women there.
Then yesterday i went to the shop again in my skool uniform, then the same guy with the big tummy came forth to me(Seriously,at this point of time i thought he was gonna offer help.) And tells me in chinese 'Thank you,Thank you' Reapeatedly . I was freaked out,Dunno to be happy or what, and what was going in my head was 'is this guy loony?' then i replied with a 'Huh?' and he asked 'What you doing here? Wanna buy things?'(in chinese) then obviously i haven't made up my mind , i told him 'Just looking around 1st,' Then the guy replied 'Then pls go out, thank you ,thank you,go out ,thank you,bye bye,bye bye'(in chinese) Then there i was kenna PUSHED OUT both physically and verbally of the shop. Besides, the push is not just merely a touch, its more of a gangster like manner .
Then after those words and actions,i stood there staring at him oth curious and angrily, only to find him looking at other people(women , so to speak) .
I stood there so to notice some other 'Customers' going in the shop without being pushed out by that guy.

This were what came across my mind : 'Did he push me out cause i was wearing skool uniform? Are uniforms not allowed in the shop?'
'Does he look down on me as a Secondary skool boy who has prolly not enough money to purchase from that Black shop?'
'Does he stereo-type that i will cause trouble?'
Or 'Does he thinks that a Secondary skool boy like me have no real passion for Photography?'

Anyways, lets just rant about these type of MF Attitudes those cranky Salesperson have . LUL!

Peace out ~

if you wanted computers, go simlim square, electronics simlim tower , shoes queenstown, toys collectibles china square, if you wanted cameras etc, go to harvey norman / courts / best denki if not simlim song bros or something . don't waste your time with shops that earn a living out of conning tourists. your existence is cramping his style.

I suggest you do this instead of ranting on the forum, when you finish NS, started working, dress and feel like a million dollars, go down there to the shop again 5-10 years later and see the same guy and go "eh? uncle "thankyou" ? you still working here ah? wah eh, your pregnancy getting from bad to worse , better get that checked in case you go into labour and give birth to a pile of sh*t. I'm sure it'll resemble you very much."

petty vengeance? maybe, but by then when your "revenge itch" has been scratched, at least you used a negative experience for a positive purpose ( motivation to succeed better than some fatass stuck in a camera shop)

90¢ worth

that's just part of growing up...

but it is good to go thru such things, so u will learn from it...knowing there are all kinds of people and also learn how to handle them....

it happened to me as a teenager and I often go home and think about it...thinking of using what words to counter if face in the same situation..thinking what should i do...

so no worries, just relax..

went into a high end shop with the intention to purchase, got totally ignored and looked down by salesperson. unbeknownst to him, his boss is a friend of mine. bought a substantially expensive wallet, intentionally requested for sales commission to be given to be passed on the other sales rep, placed a formal complaint and a complaint to my friend. now that bugger's been fired. so happy.

I used to be a salesman. I know that person has not intention to buy. I throw prices and any techie stuff to them, they will walk away. Sometime, I will stall the customer in front of my boss so that my boss will not bother me much.

TS, i know which shop you're talking about. No, he's not doing this to students only. In general, he's looking out for tourists, and that shop's sales pple all have the same kind of attitude. I went there once, my first and last visit. Not sure how their business can survive till this day.

Probably raises the prices with tourists. A lot of shops do that nowadays. It was in the papers. Some poor bloke ended spending at least two or three times mroe than normal price for a PSP.

Singaporean's aren't very honest when it comes to money. Who doesn't want a little bit more extra cash? However, surely there are much better and less dishonest ways of earning the extra money then artifically inflating your prices

if anybody works near there ah, print out this page give him see. then he will know wat a bad rep he's had on the net cos of his screwed up attitude.

he won't care. whatever tactic he's using to stay afloat, he'll just do the same thing again. his attitude shows he don't bothers with locals already

i think many are working near there, e.g. G77, Davis, GC, Maestro, etc.

btw, Funan is only one street away, and there are a few shops in Funan with customer service way better.

Lul,i'm attempting to go again, better if there's customer. Then make a hell of noise if they/he chase me out again,if he dares call the police,i'll call C.A.S.E AND the police .

Anyone wanna stop/join me? i'm going tmr after skool. Cause i have to pass the shop by anyway to go esplanade,so might as well have fun and excitement =)

Best is to keep a cool head, don't do anything stupid.

I've gotten the middle finger and a scolding today for clearing the trays on the table at MacDonalds, from the cleaner there felt pretty pissed too . But I am not a hot headed guy so just stay out of trouble at times.

for case, theres nothing they can do, since theres no business transaction between them and you.

For police, if you go there and make noise and disturb them, due to the way the uncle treated you couple of days back, you will be the one to get into trouble for disorderly behaviour in public on the day(of disturbance, since the fact that you making a scene and involving the police and with witness.customer). Wheras couple days back, theres no one or any proof that they mistreated you that will help to make you seem like victim.

if you are in school, school uniform and underage, they might just call your folks at home to handle you.

heh, unless engaging them at level of customer from hell, if not, you might not gained much from the effort and instead, get into more troubles.

anyway, if i am in your shoe and really want to do something like that, i will go alone and not get any others involved, since everything arise from just me and that fella. Another thing, for security purpose(so that no shit will get back to me if really something happen and become police case), i wont even talk about it in open forum bout it...

imho

my worst experience was a little different - at an to-remain-unnamed PC shop in pulau NTU

i stepped into the shop and the alarm went off. the staff demanded to see my bag.

that is despite the fact that they saw me just entering the shop

i just laughed, really laughed out loud

needless to say, i've never bought anything from there ever since

Seriously? Your worst experience is that the shop-owners needed to check your bag because the alarms went off when you walked through the entrance? >_> I think every single shop would have done that, you don't really expect them to keep track of every customer that walks in and out?

Lol. Their sensor is spoilt. Sometimes it happens.
Once I walked out of Popular at CWP. Just bought something. As I walked out, alarm rang. Went back to the security guard, showed him everything in my bag, then walked out. Still rang.
They asked me to walk out without my bag.
I did so, alarm didn't ring.
Security guard walked out with my bag. Didn't ring.
When I carried my bag and walked past the sensors, it rang! Despite the fact that it didn't ring when my bag and I were separated!
Puzzled, they let me go.
