Worst drum mistakes ever committed in a gig?

Hi I thought this question was always interesting and wanted to find out from you drummers what mistakes you ever made in a live gig (if any) or event?

Do state the context in which the mistake was committed (like fill overshooting and didn't come back on the '1')

I recall one gig I ever did before I tried to do a huge fill and I wasn't quick enough and threw the band off track!

my drummer committed a horrendous mistake, but we forgave him for it. heh. he tried to do the drumstick spin thingy, then the stick flew out, hit the guitarist's head, and he had to play the whole song with 1 stick. and his hand. the song we played happened to be 8 minutes long. LOL.

I guess that is why our choir drummer said to me before, must always have a spare pair lodged on top of the kick.

But for your case, He HIT your guitarist in the HEAD lol !!! If he did had a spare stick, i'm pretty sure your guitarist would have screamed at your drummer to not do it again.

i can't recall much but i do remember my last gig with my previous band.
we were pretty much tired cos we had a recording session the day before. i missed hitting the cymbals A LOT. but that's just about what i can remember

How about not properly securing the bass pedal to the bass drum? Darn thing came out 3/4 way into the song!

For me, i hit my own forehead wif drumstick while trying to do roll...
too 'in the moment' i guess hahaha thou it hurt pretty bad lol

Haha, i oso kena this problem before... i think drummer before me didn't secure the pedal properly. then i 4got to check, end up playing twice as hard to get a decent stroke.

the worst part is i think the clamp on the pedal spoilt or something... everytime i try to secure it to the bass rim, it will come out again once i start playing. and i had to put up with this for like a 1/2 an hr.

Dropped sticks after missing a cymbal, hi hat clutch coming loose halfway through almost every song in the same set (crappy old clutch that came with the rental kit), pedal chain broke, pedal spring broke, pedal beater flown off cos threading on the tightening screw were badly worn, throne gave way on me, forgot to zip my pants and walked on stage flashing like an idiot, forgotten my stick bag!!!! That's all I can remember for now....

-had a gig yesterday.first time my band perform in 2 years.My drumstick flew off while doing a roll in creeping death.luckily there's this drumstick on the floor.10 secs of drum silence,then i tried to enter and got e timing all wrong.had to wait for another bar to enter haha.

-2 songs later,my stick flew off again.this time if fly so high everyone at e bar can see my flying drumstick.

-2 years ago,we playin a song where drum supposed to finish 4 bars before e song ends.i stopped too early and my band played a whole minute without drum while i sit there like a noob.

still got a lot more i cant remember.i'm a pretty lousy drumer haha.

Honestly I had never Drop a Stick in a Gig - because I hold them very tight as I already drop them at Rehersals time (scare they drop again lah) in front of public- - but my Biggest Mistake is:-

In my 1st ever gig - I lwas looking at beautiful girls all around me (and I really bo-chap my band members at all) - (but actually cannot blame me also) - - because the girl look at me 1st (that also cannot blame them lah - because I also to be honest is quite good looking one mah -though I am old liao)......

Hahahahahah I still remember lah - My Band Leader FxxK me after that saying - - Wah Girl look at you - then you smile smile - then wack the drums pattern pattern all come out (you are really over your head liao man) - ya ya har we give you signal - you dont even care about us there - wanna acream at you - but we cant because so many people there watching - you do that again you die - next time.....but luckily he says - you play pretty well also - but dont do that again.

This is the 1st and the last lessons - - I did learn - but I still peep a little at beautiful girls - - If I say I didn't - I would be lying man - that's me lah ...afterall I do admire the beautiful things in life mah.

So if someone wanna Sabo me bery easy one - ask beautiful girl stand in front of me (but must be sexy also lah) - then I will loose focus liao and start to flare - cause old man Heart weak mah...correct...easy to foget last time what happen liao...

Forgot to put the Throw-off of the snare back on after i turned it off for the previous song. sounded WEiRD - especially in a disco-type rock song.

I missed an entire section of a song... and I only realised after reviewing videos.

And I was too in the moment to realise that ALL my other band members were looking at me... luckily it was an original and everyone thought it was part of the song... lol

lol mine was dropping sticks... used electronic kit, some girl stepped on the adaptor, the drums went buzzzzzzinggg like mad. everyone looked at me. i smiled and continue playing. haha.
At ACS battle of the bands, i played one of the songs and i accidentally rim shot my indexx finger. ouch pain man. nvm, earned nathan hartono's "ooo that must hurt" *touch my index finger* hahhahahahahha. im a girl, please dont think im gay or something. hahaha.
what else? o yea drum pedal keeps coming off the drums. snare drum pad(electronic drums) dropped off, so it was on the floor. was playing hi hat the usual position and snare on the floor. wth man..

This wasn't on stage, but there was once I was jamming... and I accidently hit the tip of the stick into the bridge of my nose, grazing past my right eye, but it still hurt like sh!t. I kept seeing a black speck whenever I looked to the left for a few weeks.

That was brutal.
