Eid Mubarak Farid! No worries, at Bintan there's a mosque at the staff dormitories area. Can do the prayer there! I did my Eid fitr prayers there every year without fail last 5 years. Hehehe....!!!

Actually Ramadhan is usually 29 days. Some may choose not to fast today, I believe it is also ok (correct me if I am wrong)......

Some believe the fasting time as 29 days but some believe it as only 15 days and some follow the masses. So, it's up to you to choose. For those who celebrates Idul Fitr....Bless be!!

well for certain, we follow what the mufti said... we follow the muhammadiyah or something and we follow by looking at the anak bulan (cresent moon). which indicates that tommorrow is hari raya aidilfitri...

when i was in primary 4, our whole family went to celebrate our hari raya at the saudi.. we fasted 31 days as they couldn't find the anak bulan on that night.. so extra one day...

just follow the masses and celebrate with the masses....

for certain, we are not in the kadiani (ugama sesat) clan where they only fast on the first day and the last day... their explanation is ibaratkan memegang seekor ular di kepala dan ekornya... oh well just don't follow them lah ah..

selamt hari raya, maaf zahir dan gunakan tenaga batin... eh zahir dan batin lah.. hehehe

OK throughout Prophet Muhamad's (peace be upon him) life, each Ramadhan he fast for 29 days but there is only one Ramadhan when he actually fast for 30 days because on the 29th day of that Ramadhan "anak bulan Ramadhan" was not sighted.

I think you can consult this with your ustaz. About 15 days, I never come across this and so I cannot comment.
