Something that wind and valve controllers users will love. Even if you are not, a breath controller will get a lot out of this one.

With samplers, the problem is live playability since it requires a lot of articulations that need to be triggered. That makes playing live difficult, and near impossible on a wind or valve controller. You need key switches, mod wheels, etc.

Now with this, it is synth-based and meant for wind/valve controllers. It can be played right out-of-the-box. Can't wait for them to come out with saxophone.

Hey, nice wind controller there. Interesting that they have alternate valve fingering as well! But with WIVI software instrument, we now only need the controller and we can forget about getting the EWI sound modules. But it seems the EWI4000S has the sound module built into the controller. That means no cheaper alternative like their older controllers which has an external module.

But now, I'm serious considering getting the Morrison Digital Trumpet. Feels and look more like a real trumpet!

no lah, used to play trumpet lines
and other wind instruments melodies
on keyboards in Top40 bands.

tried learning the saxophone
in the polytechnic band but kind
of hard as the band wants
experienced players.

I bought the WX5 and Vl70m to experiment.
playing wind instrument is not like playing keyboards
or guitars, requires lots of breath and lip control.

I used to play the trumpet - 8 years. No time after that. That's why I never went into wind controllers becuase the lipping is different between woodwinds and brass. I was attracted by Akai's first valve controller (EVI), but it disappeared before I could get my hands on one. I was quite disappointed Akai stopped producing it.

Then found out Nyle Steiner is making EVIs. I was interested - until Morrison came up with his 2 years ago. Now it appears Morrison's valve controller is the best one out there.

If you keep practicing the WX5, I'm sure you'll get there.
