Who is this The last transmission band?

I never knew that Soft had a radio station. Who is this The last transmission band? I am not a fan of sappy love songs but I really really dig their song. Only boo boo was the guitars were slightly off tune, maybe not intonated. There are goose bumps when I hear that song man, I do think (subjective I agree) its a good production especially at the end, the singer really showed such a feel, so much fragility. Excellent choice of back up harmony. Oh look the goose bumps are back again. Hooverphonics comes to mind. STEAM LAH!!!!!!!!!!

Yes the other bands are good too. But its just this one that moved me.

hmm the guitar... i think it is the sustain effect that the guitarist used which made it sound weird... not quite sure about that...

u listen carefully, the notes in the start are in the right pitch, just that when they pla ythe 2nd bar, the 1st bar's notes overlap...

:?:

not really sure, must use tuner! haha, but yeah the radio is gooooood!!!

theres a radio thread somewhere started by james

edit: here it is:

hi darren

when i first heard that sound, i wanted to email them to ask them to re-record the front part. then i listen, listen, listen and i realise, it is that out of tune guitar that stick in my mind!!!! ha..ha... cannot believe it. it sound so weird that i cannot forget it.

hence, i uploaded it without asking them to change anything.

was it really their last transmission

Are they still together as a band? yeah... should have re-recorded that outta tune part...sure it sticks in your mind lah...but so does chewing gum in the hair. any clue where they recorded their tracks?

Only the title track and the bonus tracks were recorded by us. They only recorded the drums here for the rest of the songs.

power of the suaku kana clamp by James Bond :P

Anyways... do they have a website? Tried googling it but no cigar....

hahaa..i wish i can say it was a creative call done on purpose but the simple fact was that the particular guitar used was intonated for D and the songs in standard E, and it was extremely late at night when we recorded.
it does work and sound pretty unsettling though,so we kept it like that.

as sean said, only the track neon nothingness and the drums were done at blackisle, everything else and the drum retriggering was done by me.

thanks for the kind words, the website is http://last.dark-halo.com/ and some other tracks can be found here: http://www.purevolume.com/thelasttransmission

we'll be playing at bar none on monday 5th december alongside subway stars and west grand boulevard so do come down and check us out if you can.. thanx!
