im not a drummer but here are list of my fav.
AQUILES PRIESTER-Angra
Nick Menza- Megadeth
Dean Castranovo-
ürgen " Ventor " Reil-Kreator
Chris Witchunter-Sodom

Hmm about Mashmwellow :its a local band...
The drummer Apai he is ok... but my fav are above sorry...bro

How about Danny Carey of Tool? I think he is on the same level as Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater, if not better.

ringo starr???? damn overrated. just cos he plays drums for the biggest pop band of all time. In terms of technicality, the best are Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Virgil Donati (Steve Vai), Danny Carey (Tool), Dave Lombardo ( Slayer) , and some others. Not sure about 'feel' drummers though....

Yeah I heard Paul McCartney had to get behind the drums when Ringo Starr found it too hard to play some parts

wah!!!!! no one vote for joey jordison ah..... haiz..... joey is great man!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAHHHHHH!!!!!!

NOTHING IS EVER EASY

Ppl, ppl, ppl... Drummers are like the most important ppl in the band. Keeping up the beat, tempo,etc.. To answer this Qn, IMO it will not end.. One man's meat is another man's poison..

I have my own fav drummers too... A long list to long to put here.. Nevertheless, each of us has their own opinion and its best for us not to criticised another's choice of drummers.

For those of U who said Lars Ulrich have been playing like s**t since Black album, just think for a moment... Because of him/Metallica.. the trash metal genre is born.. please dont flame me as in Black sabbath is the god father of heavy metal and Metallica's not.

Its true dat Toni Iommi chugging riffs at the first Black Sabbath album conjured up the genre but when Metallica started during their early days iat the Bay Area, there's was no band like them. The ppl who were watching them was dumbfounded with they heard and saw. They tot Metallica was a punk band. Especially when the song Phantom Lord was played..

The list goes on and on about who the best drummer is... So please, dont criticise drummers.. no matter how good or bad they played in a record, at least they got recognition..

As for me, my list of fav of drummers are as follows:

(in random)

1. Lars Ulrich (Check out his maestro at And Justice for All.. a lot of odd time signature)
2. Mike Portnoy (DT rules!!!!)
3. Justin Fooley (Killswitch Engage) His setup is smaller than mine but the sound is huge!!!!
4. Mike Mangini
5. Nick Menza
6. Buddy Rich
7. Chad Smith
8. Matt Cameron
9. Dave Abruzee (pearl jam)
10. David Silveira
11. Jason Rullo (Symphony X)
12. Dennis Chamber
13. Vinnie Paul (How the hell did he play those part at Becoming)
14. Eric Singer
15. Vinnie Collaiuta (Studio great!!!)
16. Shahril (Spore's very own Ossuary)
17. Dean Castonovo
18. Dave Lombardo
20. Henry Rata (soilwork)
21. Daniel Erlanson (Arch enemy)

The List for me is never ending....

Cheers!!!!

I wonder how people idolise Mike Portnoy and yet fail to recognise other *erhem erhem* more talented people than him, e.g Neil Peart, Stewart Copeland, Nicko McBrain, Danny Carey, Josh Freese.

Joey, double bass brutal? You haven't met people like Flo Mounier, Gene Hoglan, Dave Lombardo.

I myself have no personal favourites. It is impossible to filter the best out of the good. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. Currently i'm listening to these bands. Double bass gets boring, even with Flo and Dave.

Police
Rush -you'd never get bored of Neil.
VR
COB

Just a random rant. Don't take it personally.

Yup.. dats true.. there are so many drummers out there with their own unique abilities... Every drummer is unique.

From Jazz to Waltz.. From R&B to Pop.. From Ska to Punk... From Rock to Metal.. From Rubber to Plastic...

Everything is unique...

Being a drummer is a hell of a job. Ur responsibilities are huge. That's why drummers are most sought upon..

no offence taken...and yes, i have heard flo, gene, and Lombardo, of course. I dun play drums myself....but I've heard from many good drummers that Joey's double-pedal work is awesome...so i guess i will take their word for it.
