personally, i think portnoy is the best. hes topwork is amaing and his double bass work is unrivalled. and his knowledge of music is just so amazing. that guy is really amazing.

portnoy for sure. but travis barker is frikkin awesome. he can do anything. i also like the way dave grohl used to drum, very simple but very passionate and energetic. and of course lars ulrich.

yah travis barker is a freak. lars at his peak was definetly one of the best but hes no longer as good. but cmon the guy's 40 now. but the way he works the crowd is really good. he probably spends more time out of his kit then behind it.

he played drums for nirvana, foo fighters, queen of stone age,tommy iommi ,probot and now NINE INCH NAILS.Bascially he played drums for all the kickass modern rock and metal bands

and the guy from dream theater

i also like taylor hawkins from the foo fighters. the way he drums is very energetic and is very entertaining to watch, kinda like dave grohl. taylor has a weird drumset though.

there is only one mike portnoy... his beats, the way he plays with feeling and emotion, rare for any drummer! he's the best, and def a very integral part of DT!

To me best drummer is the one who can maintain e beat n at the same time enjoy the music....bottom line is that the drummer is the one tht controls the whole tempo...if they get it right the whole band able to play wif passion n feeling....that's all dude!... :wink:
