Which tube amp do u recomend with this budget?

So mega amps it is? kinda looking for a new amp too. but like mega amps no information or anything. $3xx for a 60watt tube something wrong here.

Its made in china.Kinda clear the doubts for me when I had the same thought.

$325. pre amp tube, not full tube.

plus point=very nice cleans

minus point= mike has said, treble cannot go beyond 2 when using the gain channel.
and i dont like this channel as well.

very loud

oh and its rated solid state 60 watts.

^ i wasn't even talking about valve or hybrid. i was just telling you that the XL series has already been superceded by the VT series, with the latter being better at high gain than the former which you said offers the "highest gain". read clearly.

Ok fine. VT is the highest gain amp from Vox, so called replacing the XL. But read clearly now. I'm addressing the issue with relation to the thread topic. Not just about Vox. TS wants a full tube amp now. Asking him to buy the VT would be like an upgrade but not according to TS's requirements.

van_halen: Precisely. The VT series is still hybrid with a circuit that emulates a tube power amp section, no? TS is looking at full tube amps, thus the only series I can think of is the AC series, which are not high gain.

TS: Your current is a a half valve amp. Ok so you want a full tube one? I'd still recommend the Blackstar. Though it's not that high. Really high gains with full tube, hard to find with smaller wattage amps.

Yeah. True man... With my budget, the blackstar is closest to my requirements. And i am getting that. Thanks  .
I think i am getting the head/cab one.I am thinking should i just get the head then get another cab or use the ht-5 's cab?

i did not ask TS or anyone to buy the VT. i'm just correcting you when you said that the XL offers the "highest gain" in the vox range, when it has already been superceded by the VT. read clearly.

But... Are you sure you really want a full tube amp though it's not as high gain as you want? The VT series mentioned by van_halen seems to come close to the sound you, but without the power amp tubes, though they boast that the "circuitry" emulates tube power amp section. I don't know.

But do give a test to both amps, ok? Blackstar may be full tube, but if it doesn't serve to your tonal desires, what for?

Not sure about the cab. But you should see the compatibility, first.

Yes i am sure about getting the blackstar head. I am boosting it for those Ultra high gain. Now i am not sure about the cab.

IMHO, I would get a solid state for metal, unless I have damn good sound proofing and a 100 watter tube...

which one? cub or little giant? what i dont get it from u guys is that..
amp & speaker is merely a tool to amplify your sound.. yes? no? maybe? haizzz...
ok whatever genre you desire, you got to sculpt the tone out of any amps/cab from your guitar?

anyway here are 2 simple demos of what a small stock amp can do, 1st from clean to metal & 2nd demo straight in no effects, just guitar volume for color -

now i feel like an old grouchy uncle.. hehe.. ok since im here, i got a question too
for a sub $500 category, between s/s & tube amp for eg. tech21 & fender tube amps
which ones get your vote & why? to set the record straight i dont own any of the above 2 amps

:)

eieio: I meant the cube10. Yeah the video of clean to metal, sure.. Any amp can do that, cause the guy is using an external gain source - his pedals. The second video, the gain is quite high, but that metal chugg. TS wants an amp that can itself do heavy metal chugg.

Are there sub $500 Fender tube amps? I think even the Fender Champion 600 might be more at SL.
