Which is the biggest metal band right now?

I was discussing with my bass player the other day on who is the biggest metal band right now.

Besides Metallica as they are already on a different level. After that I feel its Slayer and Megadeth and the next level is Lamb of God and Trivium.

What do you guys think?

saw em at soundwave perth 09, 90% kids that attended soundwave wore LOG tshirts.

there wont be any definitive conclusion to the question, coz

1) The metal we like and the metal some other like, will never see eye to eye nor of the same level according to some

2) some metallers think their favourite metal band is more metal than what most metallers like and will never agree on the former's opinion of biggest metal band

3) we all are biased according to the metal we know and like and not those we havent know or like, but known to others and supported by others

4) the original question was not a proper question, without defining the definition of biggest, according to sex organ length, record sales, radio airplay, tour profit, most groupies, bigger than DMC, popularity in mainstream popular metal circle or stuck in forest, hidden away under moonlight and the bayan tree kinda metal etc

5) we only have personal opinions, but doesnt equal to same sentiments in term of global biggest.

imho, the biggest metal act in local context, is this!

Lamb Of God are almost there and are the next big thing in metal!

80s/90s had Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth.

LOG is the millennium! They will be in Aus/NZ in December, I hope they make it to Singapore!

Well, Slipknot then. They have 9 members in their band, if I ain't wrong. Surely they can kick the ass of 2-men Darkthrone? :O

Too many different subgenres of metal. In metal if you cared about being the biggest and not playing exactly what your heart tells you to play, you're a sellout and are no longer metal. Don't care about all this "be the biggest" bullshit. I don't think Dave Mustaine cares about what people think, unless if he really respects them, eg Andy Sneap. Metallica? Trivium?! They're on the same level as My Chemical Romance.
