Which Ibby to get?

Which Ibanez Guitar to buy???

I suddenly got 80s Nostalgia... There's a nice white RG2550 in Swee Lee which I've been gassing for the longest time... (aiyah... just an excuse to buy an RG lah... I only have a 7 string one) Somemore RGs are so 80s, it brings back the hairspray and tight spandex memories... Whahahaha... Or I could just buy a JEM77VWH.

Then there's this Ibanez S5470 which is something I've always wanted...

You know, when you just start out in guitars, there will be some that you always want to buy one day. Then, when you can finally afford it, you've got all these great guitars, but for some reason you never bought what it was you desired all this while? The S was like this for me... Something I've always wanted, but never got round to buying...

So... Which should it be???

The RG2550 is nice...
Played one many times as many of my friends have one... Some got the RG2570, but essentially the same just without the pickguard and different color...

Some thoughts on it...
The neck is super thin... Too thin for my liking actually...
The bridge pickup is too muddy for my liking...
But overall a pretty nice guitar to have...

You sure you can get use to the neck/radius of the RG? It's a pretty big departure from your balls...
 
I've always GASsed for the RG2550.. Soooooo juicy!
Heavy ass tone.. Never tried the S5470 though..
You GAS for both.. You just gotta see which one you GAS for more!
Same for me.. In terms of playing.. I started guitar to play metal.. Now I'm playing blues? :rolleyes: Never really touched metal.. Lol!

It's not as if ALL my balls are nice and rounded...:p The Wizard neck is close to the JP6 lah...

Besides, with the JP6 around, you think I'll be very much tempted to play the RG2550 more? No. It's more for a collection's sake...
 
i heard that ibanez is having a reissue on a certain model of thier to follow up on thier 20th reissue rg550's . maybe u should wait for those
 
lol... I get it lah...

But because one of my good friends, whose main gigging guitar is the RG2550, and he's conveniently my housemate too... So we often have little jams together...
It's entirely different from the JP actually, not even close... The neck I mean...
I could never get used to his RG2550's neck, it's just too damn thin for me...

If it was up to me, I'll totally go for the S5470, but then again, it's up to you ;)

Yeah.. But a work of art being displayed, rather than fulfill her duty of being played, is sad indeed.. The RG2550 is the only high end RG I'd invest in.. Seeing that it sounds good, and looks good to me! :mrgreen:
 
Its really up to u

However ill choose a zr trem over an edge trem anytime.
Hence a preference for the s series guitar
 
The RG2550 looks more 80s than the S5470 in my humble opinion... Like Shioks, I'd choose the ZR trem over the EDGE because its said to be smoother and more stable. But if you want 80s, I'd say RG2550.

I didn't vote though, because you've made me GAS for both! :mrgreen:
