Which Fender Stratocaster?

If you get a really low-end guitar now, and while learning to play it, you might think that the challenges you face might be because the guitar is not "good" enough and etc whatever excuses one can think of ..., and that you need a better guitar(it happens...we always blame the gear hahah)

That's so true. But I only blame my pickups though. My guitar is fine, my strings are fine. The neck is a tad heavy but it's manageable...it's the pickups, I swear!

Anyway, consider your first purchase an important one because your first guitar will be the 'sweetest' and most 'memorable'. Don't ever sell your first guitar. At least I'd recommend not to.

Blues, Fender is a good pick. Hope you will find the perfect Fender for you. It'll go a long way until your next purchase.

really thank you everyone here for your advices. I really appreciate all these.
Alright I guess I will just heed you all advice and get a 2nd hand MIA Strat.

Will post up and see who is willing to let go his. I remember peninsular plaza do sell some 2nd hand guitars too ..

Remember!!! MIA Standard ...

;)

yup, Highway 1's are also MIA, but they are not the same as MIA Standard and cost way cheaper.

Highway 1's Strat are great though(2nd hand is around 700-800), but hey, your budget is good enough for you to own a piece of good old rock n roll history(think clapton etc etc)- the MIA standard strat.

But to me, I prefer the feel of the MIA Standard, or the MIA deluxe , over the Highway 1. I own all 3.

I don't see whats wrong with either 3 points you listed.

Seriously, if it feels and sounds good, those 3 points shouldn't really be the deciding factor in purchasing a guitar. What matters is how you feel about it after you've tried the guitars.

TS, please go try out the various guitars. Asking here without having experience with strats listed here is like buying a car in the dark, then after buying it taking the car out for the first test drive.

Go try as many out as you can, having a higher price doesn't mean its better for you. It may sound and feel better for others, but what matters is your own hands, ears and feeling towards the instrument.

i didnt mention anything wrong with those 3 points did i? its a matter of difference that certain people might wanna take note of

i have an american standard and i'm certainly fine with those 3 points.

MEH.

Hope you didn't take any offense cause that wasn't my intention. lol, just wanted to let the TS or anyone looking for a strat to realise that those 3 points shouldn't be the main points of consideration when choosing the right guitar.

That's why I mentioned to go play with them, so that they'd get first hand experience.

no worries bro,was laughing when i typed it. no harm done

cheers

my two sens worth of opinion i.e. get the cheapest fender copy u can find. wen u r on the intermediate level and ur knowledge of guitar had increased den thats the right time to hunt for the right one. money saved for future use. pap style win win solution.

^ It would save him money if he just got the higher end one right away instead of buying a cheap one and upgrading later.

Beginners get confused when tone hounds yakk too much....just try and get whatever you'r the most comfortable with!

The MIA standard was the one i felt at home with. the 2008 ones are seriously the bomb. although the 2007 ones are not too bad either.

hi guys, thanks for everyone inputs! the three letters MIA is always on my mind and so today I went Swee Lee and hoot-ed a MIA strato at $1500! last min able to squeeze out $100 more for a brand new one.

I love my Strato!
