Which electric guitar string brand can last long/tahan lama??

Just bought dean markley blue steel 9.42 electric guitar string..and just now i was playing and my B string broke...I just wonder any of u guys find which string that is the best as in: not rust easily
can last long even when bending


I would appreciate your opinions....thankz...

if its new strings and broke while bending.most probably your guitar is setup wrongly.wont rust easily.if rust then get a new one la.only $6-$8.

Hmmm if you don't mind spending like $16 you can try elixir strings!

If not you can change those strings on a regular basis like maybe every 4wks depending on how often you play your guitar =)

To tell the truth Dean Markleys have never impressed me...

I use Ernie Ball Super Slinky 9s. They're super tough, no matter what I do to them they not only not break, but stay in tune!

If you want something stiffer, you might want to try GHS Boomers. I used to use them and they're fantastic. I'm getting them next since the Ernies are too slinky haha.

i use slinkys too =) It seems like they dont break. However, they rust very easily!

I have used Dean Markley...ESP...SIT...Ernie Ball...and most of them broke when i bend+pick hard which i love to do.Ernie Ball and Dean Markley to me feel kinda similar...they're pretty smooth to play but doesnt last IMO...
I settled for D'Addario Super Light Gauge(which i always buy in bulk) and so far has not failed me yet in the "break" department...but then again my palm dont sweat so my strings dont rust easily..
Good luck in choosing your string dude....and this is a process which gonna takes time as in trial and error...

Playing everyday for 2 hours minimum and cleaning the strings after everyday..

roughly gague the lifespan?
i mean the time when it starts to get REALLY rusty..
i use super slinky and it will IMMEDIATELY rust...
that's what strings are though...

It lasts much longer than the ordinary ones. However i cant seem to find any so far in Singapore music shops =/

they do have RPS slinkys of many gauges, definitely will have reinforced super slinky.

it would last a few weeks longer i guess.. never really tried it before. I have been searching high and low for those strings and to no avail.. sigh... hehe

i would also wanna get a whole box of those =)

I use d'addario 10-46 unwound G, not because they last long, but rather they sound good for my tastes.

But if you want long lasting strings that don't rust easily, elixirs are it due to the coating.

the DR strings too.

I used to use EB's and Curt Mangans and Addarios. By experience most of them start turning black withing a week and i hafta change it every 3 weeks, depending on how often i gig.

I rercently switched to DR strings, while more costly, seem to last and give a fuller tone, although the strings feel stiffer and tougher to bend due to the higher tension.
