And, isn't it true that less well known pedals/ products come in cheaper because consumers don't necessarily pay for the brand name?

So any shops? Because i seem to be getting pedals only from one shop..their great but i want to explore...

depends, is it less well know in the forum community here, less well known in general effect pedal market or less well known to some coz it cost too much and out of reach to average user(limited run, military grade components, entire new effect design which doesnt ride on the circuit which came before etc etc) or less well known coz its not being mentioned in that few "big name" effect forums discussion etc

There are a lot of effect, which we might not have heard of, but costing more than the average $100 to $500sgd range. For those, prolly cater to a niche market to folks who wanna something special and not easily owned by just anyone.

Anyway, less well known is a big big variable which depends on how we perceived it, thus there might not be any right or wrong, but more of what we know and having opinions, according to our exposure to effect pedals and enough money to get by etc.

Hehe, shop recommendation, i dont have. I can only say, just pay a reasonable price for the things we like(comparing it to online purchase prices, shipping, gst etc) and play some music.

I find that the Modtone Pedals from Standard Value are really slick pedals - good price, good tone.

However, that's just my opinion. Other people will differ depending on what they like

Davis keeps extending their range of pedals in such a tiny little glass case but the prices are amazing.
From T-Rex to Keeley to EHX and even those Muza stuffs. All of them at comparable prices.
Bad thing is the shop space means lack of a 'trying' out environment. I only head there with a purpose (eg. bought a Muza ambience last week to end my 2 year pedal drought)

Mike at SV also brings in items at good prices. Nice range of stuff that can only be found at their shop. CMat mods stuff are brilliant. Wampler ain't my cup of tea but good pedals, too bad some are one trick ponies.

Blackwood is seriously just a shadow of what it was. Other shops don't really specialize in pedals and hence their prices are average.

I always like the idea of buying used pedals cos it's usually more cost efficient :) . I get my stuff from Soft and Guitar Connection.

However, the waiting game is a long one. have to stay vigilant hahaha!

Hi sorry to hijack your thread. But just to ask, how's the customer service at Standard Value? Like will they let you try their products before buying.

Mike demos to you all the pedals you want to try and let you try it before you buy, even if you don't buy, you can try it too. Bought 3 pedals from him already, going on to 4th by this Christmas =x
