Where to sell second hand guitars

Hi,
I wonder is there any shop that takes in 2nd hand guitars because I need to sell off mine urgently. I heard of cash convertors but I also heard that they pay really low prices.

Thanks in advance:)

Sell them online at SOFT. If you need to sell off urgently and fast, price them low because used items are quite price sensitive (unless it's something people crave for). Nevertheless, you will get back more money here than if you sell them to 2nd hand shops like Cash Converter or GC. But be wary of lowballers here because they possess this special gift of irritating people. Best is to totally ignore them. Good luck.

:)

Thank you so much everyone. I posted an ad but doesn't seem to get any response, so I was thinking of selling it to the shops or something. Thanks a lot! :)

Sometimes have to wait but it usually gets snapped up if the price is right.

if you really don't want to waste time and get cash quick, just sell it to a 2nd hand shop. I recommend Guitar Connection, prices are reasonable.

2nd hand at shops equals rip-off mate. I don't know, when I bought my NT brand new a shop offered me $400 for it with the cab, and $100 for a guitar I was selling (which fetched 440 on Soft).

Quite pissed at the shop, nothing as what they used to be with their humble beginnings.

Correct. Very-very low... I was once given a quite in one of the shops in CityHall that my Fender USA will be like 500++...

Forget it.

Bro, I give u better offer. $550? Haha.

Seriously, all stores that take in 2nd hand guitars have to buy it at a much lower price so that they can make profit and cover costs when they sell it at a normal price. Its just the way it works.
You can't expect the store to buy something at a decent price and sell it at a higher price cos it won't sell..

If you really really wana sell it fas then post it on soft and lower the price, you'll get a better deal even if you lowball yourself heh.

errr... that's actually the place I was referring to... :)
LOL. $500 for a MIA Fender is downright lowballing! You can even sell it online for a very low price of $900, and chances people will snap it right away. And you still get back $400 more than what that shop offered you.

Seriously, people shouldn't waste time with such shops, unless they're really desperate.

There are cases where by shops won't even want to buy your guitar for $10 because the amount of work required would be too much for them to even consider fixing up.
