where to get Tokai online?

tried searching the forums but nothing on point. anyone knows where i can order tokai online? sg doesn't seem to have many choices so i thought i'd try online. thks!

which tokai models would you be looking for? and are you looking for vintage ones or their current range?

i came across some good buys on this site below. very limited Tokai range, but they offer models you dont find here (i.e. not LPs) for good prices.

yeah Davis does, but fibredrive wants models other than those found in sg. and davis only has Tokai LPs, if i'm not wrong.

hey all,

thks for the replies. am looking in particular for LP models but different colour. there's a nice one at guitar workshop but its a sycamore top. am looking for maple tops. so wondering if i can get a nice violin burst with maple top. some folks mentioned ishibashi but can't find the models there.
sg has limited stock. davis has but not the colours i want. orangeguitar i have yet to contact wai kay but sounds like a good idea.

cool... that's the one you said you're getting right. the '62 RI tele with the texas specials? i think the full model number is TL62B-75TX

slightly cheaper than what i paid 8O

i'm really thinking i should go that way too for my next guitar. Standard Value is a local shop?

hi fibredrive. the tokais are in stock at ishibashi already (well some of them). i emailed them and they said they have some already.

theres a violin PLAINTOP i think.

hi matt, thks for the info. will go check out the ishibashi webbie. am waiting for standard value to revert with the price. am also considering an orville by gibson model. looks sweet. heh. the tokai from standard value is quoted at about $1400 for a LS85Q model...but can't seem to find the specs for it...

thanks all for the info. learned abit about tokais thru all the research and stuff. unfortunately am unable to find the model and colour i like so might end up with another piece somewhere...

niways, there's also jsdguitarshack.com but they only sell korean models custom made for the canadian market. worth a look altho price wise it's about $1200. the colours are really nice on some models tho. and yep they ship to sg.

apart from that, u can also get it from apollonmusic.com (limited models) or standard value (situated in woodlands). (more models me thinks)

anyways just sharing a bit for all those tokai fans out there..!
