The rat isn't that heavy. What you guys should note is - different pedals sound different with different amps.
As to whether it sounds like _____, it depends on your guitar, cables, amp, pedals, technique - the sum of everything, technique being one of the more important ones. Also keep in mind many players have recording setups for recorded material, which they don't duplicate live but just do an approximation.

Distortion pedals shud be design with gain knob only able to turn up to 10 o'clk postion only and below :lol:

Just note... some pedals fare better with certain amps and guitars.
Example, a Tubescreamer is usually "nicer" with single coils coz of the compression and fattening effect... to which a humbucker user like me, finds un-necessary.
Then you have pedals like... that Zvex Box of Rock, meant to be used with Marshal amps.

I choose boutique over stock because I couldn't get somethings I wanted from Stock pedals... especially when I do an a/b comparison, I find no grounds to choose a stock pedal especially when I have the dough, and I have an idea of tone I want.

I do find boutique pedals to be more...use-able than mass produced pedals..
mods do help,but at the end of the day....the pedal+mod does cost more than a lot of boutique pedals that can do the job...boutique pedals are not a 250$ only market...
on another note...barring one,all my pedals were ordered overseas...and btw...the shipping takes a week...so shldnt be a big issue :lol:
