Where to buy my new electric guitar from?

I will be getting a new electric guitar(my first one), but not sure where to buy one from? Looking forward to get an Ibanez GAX30.

I have heard of places like Swee Lee. I am not very sure about the market but read that their goods are overpriced? In a sense. Not too sure about that though, not experienced in this area.

So I need help to find the GAX30, if not I will be going to Swee Lee already.
Are the prices at Swee Lee worth it?
If not, looking for suggestions on better(and cheaper) places to buy from if not from SL.

Thank you! (:

I assume you have an amplifier now.. haha. Swee lee is indeed overpriced.. haha.you can try getting online or if not, you can get it from sweelee.

Sweelee is the official Ibanez dealer in singapore, although you might be able to find ibanez guitars in other shops.Perhaps you would want to walk around peninsula and browse around the guitar shops for the GAX30.If not,you can just get the guitar at sweelee,im sure they would give you a discount.(I heard that the Sims drive outlet gives more discount than the Bras Basah one, maybe you should contact each outlet first ;-))

DavidSy, have you tried the Ibanez GAX3 before?

What makes you choose this guitar?

Plenty of other good beginner guitars apart from the GAX 30.

But since you want the GAX 30, Swee Lee would be the official dealer for Ibanez.

You deserve something better. Guitar of better/reasonable quality is much more likely to motivate you to pick it up and play.

I've read some reviews about it and thought it wasn't that bad. Are there any better recommendations? (I've got a tight budget about $300++ as well...) And where can I purchase the guitars from? Haha.

EDIT: I've never tried the Ibanez GAX30 itself, only read about it. _Thought_ it was alright.

It depends what kinda stuff you prefer playing.
If you like Heavier sounding stuff get a guitar with humbuckers. I would personally get a LTD model from davis might have to top up abit more. If your more to cleaner sounding stuff get a single coil guitar. You can get a Squire Strat or telecaster for like 300 i think.
I can name you a few bands which guitarist uses humbuckers and single coils. Humbucker : Gun N Roses(Slash) Aerosmith(Joe Perry) Metallica ( kirt and james) and Carlos Santana
Single Coils: Red Hot chili peppers( John Frusciante) Eric Clapton , Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana ( Kurt Cobain)
Do keep in mind the pick ups are only 1 part of getting their sound you still need good amps and etc.
But i really Recommend a LTD guitar, pretty decent workmanship , affordable and lots of models to choose from

I think the Gio range isn't bad. I personally own one and it beats a lot of more expensive guitars in many aspects. Ibanez's quality control may be dodgy but if you find a good piece, it's going to last you a very long time. Just because it's a Gio doesn't mean it's lousy.

But on the other hand, must it necessarily be Ibanez? I'd advise you to keep an open mind because some other guitar might suit you better. You might get a good Ibanez GAX30, but if you try out another guitar down the road that suits you better, you're going to have regrets.

I think I'll drop by Peninsula tomorrow to take a look(and take a chance at finding my new best friend there :D), thank you for all your feedback. (: I will not put that much high hopes on Ibanez, will see for other labels as well haha. Will update you guys after I'm back! (:

EDIT: I'm back! Hahas, Davis Guitars is the bomb man, when I went there I realised that I bought my acoustic guitar there 2 years back! I am more or less getting a LTD from Davis! Visited many other shops as well, Swee Lee was an okay experience, did not see much there though.

If you have any guitar(specific) that you find is awesome, please recommend! (: Thank you!

Samick Artist series guitars if you can get hold of it still. I'm using it, it's a very good guitar plan to use it as my signature guitar. I'm using a samick artist series 29 frets guitar

LTD's workmanship quality is quite reputable. My suggestion just pick one that looks sexy to you. And try it out. If you dont know how to play its ok just check if you like the neck and the fretboard size etc. Make sure you feel its comfortable before purchasing.
