Hey. The title says it all. Where can I buiy an E-Drum Kit below $500? Any good places to buy the Pedals too?

How good is your "good'? Professional level with recordings of real drums and cymbals sound in it? That will be impossible. And yes a good drumkit under $500 is almost impossible to find.

Anything below $900 is fine. Good as in recommended. I live in an apartment so yeah. I've seen a lot of DTX lately cause they're the only brands that I know of selling E-drums, but most of them are around $1000+. A basic kit will do cause' my apartment is small. :p

I'm new to S.O.F.T., just joined yesterday so I don't how the selling of the insrument works. Do people send it over or do we get ourselves? Online payment? Got a lot of questions in my head. Sorry.

Depends on how the soft person would deal with you, a nice guy would deliver to your house but in most cases, u would be preferred to collect at the seller's house :)

DTX is not a brand, the brand is Yamaha. Besides Yamaha, there is also Roland, Alesis, Medeli. Pearl just came up with a acoustic/electronic hybrid drumset called E-Pro. If u are getting from retailers, I suppose delivery is included, as for sellers in SOFT, usually delivery is not included. A basic electronic set is not big, I believe a large cab will fit.

hey, currently interested to buy edrums as well, anyone know whats the best for my budget of $700-$1000 be it first hand or 2nd hand

I see. Sorry, just started drumming so I might not know a few drum brands. I am not into first-hand drums that much cause I know first-hands are always the expensive ones and I'm a beginner, but I play double bass a lot. I don't get to practice double bass on any drums though. I would like to take some free lessons (if anyone is kind enough) if I had to. Any recommended E-drum kits? Basic set'll do.

hi, i saw some pretty cheap and good Alesis drum kits at sinamex, price wise, pretty high compared to the US/UK counterparts, but still set is great value for money

I see. For the pedals of the drums, where can I buy those, and how much do they usually cost?

$400 huh? Must be hard to find. I guess there are some cheap ones out there. Sorry for loads of questions. I finally found some people I could talk to about drums. How do you do drumrolls?

U can buy any pedals from drumshops (Yamaha, Swee Lee, Ranking etc) Cost varies depending from models and brands.

I live in Jurong. Which is the nearest Swee Lee Shop I can find? My brother passed by it once and he said the shop was good and he'd recommend it. Sadly, he had to go to work and don't have the time to show it to me these past few months. He ain't a musician but he knows which shop is good. I'm 14 and a lot of people say I should go there with an adult just in case they trick me just because of my young age.

Swee Lee is not really known to be a 'good' shop. Shopping experience varies depending if u know anyone there. I suppose the nearest branch for u will be Bras Besah Complex. They carry Pearl and Tama pedals IIRC. A good time to go down will be during their yr end sale where things will go @ half price. Ranking carries DW pedals but their service suck to the core esp if u are served by an old uncle. No buying no testing. If u start viewing, he will glare down at u and speak to u in a interrogative tone.

Yamaha pedals are decent and decently priced, my recommendation is to get a Yamaha pedal. Or if u have the moolahs, get Axis pedals from Nigel Gan of Drumresources. Excellent service, u will enjoy meeting him. But the thing is, he operates from his warehouse now in Tanjong Pagar.

Ideally, u shld go with ur mum or dad or both. Since all shops above besides Drumresources do not have excellent service or any, so to speak.

If u are unsure of the prices, note them down and ask for advices here to see if these people (besides Drumresources) are trying to scam u.

Thanks a lot, man. Didn't know buying a drumset could be that hard... I'll look into it but, I guess I'll wait till the prices go down.

Buying drums is not hard but it will do u good and save u some upsets and trouble if u do some homework. Ok la, Swee Lee is generally ok, their so called "real" prices is usually 20-30% off their stated prices during normal days. Buy and go off type. As for Nigel Gan, he is a drummer, so the service he gives is what he as a drummer would like to have when he shops for drums. Nigel carries some drums such as Battlefield (USA Made, excellent excellent drums) as well as Brady. But these are acoustics drums. Brady is a high-end customs drumshop from Australia, they make one of the best and beautiful snares/drumsets in the world which are sought off and used by many famous drummers.

LOl Mr johann, you are recommending brady out! Thats very very ex, i think we are the only 2 having it with the old throwoff haha!
Oh ya btw, shinoku, if you are looking for electronic kit, go to Yamaha, their prices are very affordable, and top of that, there is 10% discount for normal walk in customers, for sweelee, their electronic kits are fixed, even on a sale day, Their electronic drums are just 10% cheaper, and a td4kx2 is $2.7k, i dont think you would want to splurge so much money as a beginner, or else, u could go to sinamax for the alesis dm6 , That drum set is KICKASS, totally an enjoyment to me :)
Whatever it is, just consider that you are spending ur parents hard earned money, make wise choices, Cheers!
