What's the verdict on the new EB Wahs?

Anybody here who's fortunate enough to purchase and tried the new Ernie Ball Wah live on a band setting? I'm still torn between this and the Budda Bud Wah.

I have one... It sounds really different from my Crybaby...

Initially, thought of getting the EB Wah and get rid of the Crybaby, but then both of them are voiced differently, so I intend to keep both of them...

Do try it out before you make your decision?

I'd been using the EB Wah in a church band setting, and it really shines through the mix...
Especially with clean and OD...

But I prefer to use the Crybaby with high gain though, it's voice seems to suite that better IMHO...
Didn't really have a chance to try it with my own DT cover band yet, as the PODxt LIVE is easier to lug around...

Got it for SGD235 from Music Theme...

IIRC, when I went there last Sat, they didin't have any stock of them left...
Might need to order...

Oh ya, just to add... I prefer the EB Wah as my main wah as it's tbp...

sorry to side track but i found a wah, that blows every single wah i've ever heard out of the water. fulltones, rmc, budda, eb etc.

area 51 wah

i'm ordering it, as soon as i get my pay..

hahah the description of the wah made me laugh..

...Another way to put it - It gives you "woh woh" and "wee wee" in addition to "wah wah".

Hey thanks guys for the response! I think the added LED light is the major plus compared to other wahs but... you said it doesn't cut well with high gain distortion?

@ dudelove - area51's a lil pricey? no?

Assuming you all haven't tried - go for the Picture Wah by Geoffrey Teese. I've tried lots and lots of wah - this is the best so far - to my ears at least.

Thanks for the response buddy but, Teese Wah is waay out of the budget. I only have like $250 to spare... :)

Really? Works perfect for me...

You've tried it live bro? :) So it's better compared to Budda Bud Wah? I'm into funky sounds... and vocal quack.

kernelspy: not that it doesn't cut it for high gain, I just prefer the crybaby for high gain... The EB Wah really shines for clean/OD funk stuff... I wouldn't spend that much on a wah and I like the simplicity too...

I'll record some clips in the next few days, give me sometime though, been busy with work and church...

What do you want to hear?
I guess you can find the clean and OD clips on youtube, but I think they aren't any demos with high gain distortion... Maybe Lionel can help out too...

Thanks dude! Yeah, clips with really be helpful!

If you know the song 'This is Your House' from Don Moen or Mighty to Save from Hillsong, that's one of our song in our Church. Kinda like that slow wah/ vocal quack sound. Or maybe some good old Red Hot Chilli Peppers clean and overdriven... :p

I think I have that song somewhere...

Was thinking of recording the solo part of Dream Theater's Ministry of Lost Souls for the high gain part...

IIRC, Don Moen had an album that has a lot of wah/rock sounds?

Live as in jam studio? Playing very loud? Yes. (I play louder in the studio than I used to do in church) In Gigs? Nope. Haven't had the time for gigs recently.

I've tried the Morley, and the Ibanez one... the EB rulez both. Budda? Never tried... can't comment.

Watch the clip I posted. The wah is EXACTLY that characteristic...
