Wah tera, going poly and spending that much on samples! No objections from parents? So you jumped in on soundsonline 50% sales eh? It's a pity you are going standalone. If you have Kontakt or GVI, the standalone plug into them as well. And they let you load other non-standlones. They all fit into a nice combined interface.
This thread is becoming more and more of a sampling thread rather than VST. Maybe we should extend the topic to include samples as well.
And since Tera has started already with his new samples, I'll continue with mine:
Orchestral: Peter Siedlaczek's Advanced Orchestra, Kirk Hunter's Symphonic Orchestra (Emerald), Symphony of Voices, Xsample's Harp/celesta/klavicymbels
Pianos/keys: Sampletekk's White Grand Jr, PMI's Emperor, Gigapiano, SonicImplant's B3, DX-Rex (Yamaha DX11 samples), Prophet-5, Sampletekk's Harsichord and clavs
Ethnic/Word: Ethno World Complete, EW Rare Instruments, Xsample's Psalter
Percussion/drums: SonicImplant's AfroCuban, Percussive Adventures, DrumImplants, Wizoo's chimes and Yamaha Toms, Acousic Essentials
Guitars/Bass: Acoustic Essentials (6 and 12 strings, Washburn bass), Guitar Implants, Yellow Tool's Pure E-basses
Loops: Metamorphosis
License-free: Wizoo's oberheim samples and hybrid stings/brass (I think they are ARP samples) and analog basses, SAM free trumpets/tympanis/snares/rototoms/stomps, various FX and loops, others.
Plan carefully, look for sales and clearances, get only samples you need - and you can save a lot of money. Cheaper than hardware.
