What's in your VSTplugin folder?

lots of people use Calkwalk sonar
because it is one of the first PC
sequencer software.

I still remember having a DOS copy
of the Cakewalk software in the early
days before Windows3.1. haha!

but then, no $money$ to buy MIDI interface
like the roland MPC401 ??? !!!

Bongman:
Not becoz it's one of the 1st seq s/w lah! Becoz it's one of the most PIRATED s/w during those days!!
I remember doing some Karaoke Machine work for some company back then where NONE of their Cakewalk (DOS nor Win 3.1) versions were original! 8O
Then again, none of anyone I knew had an original back then!
Kinda like the same as how VCD format gained its "foothold" here in Asia, u know? Ha,ha!

oh yes, I remeber the copy passed
to me was a copied version where
I copied another.

those were the days when SIM LIM
were selling lots of pirated software,
too bad I didn't caught on the
bandwagon then to buy pirated software.
err... actually I did buy a few lah but no
money to buy a good PC !? haha !!!

now the software and manuals still at
home as souvenirs.

with now everything going software,
things getting worst... lime wiring and
downloading. chicken and egg problem ???
the problem never ends.

wonder will the Hardware manufacturers
(eg. Korg, Roland, Yamaha, etc) be hit and affected ???
actually I still like hardware

Bongman:

You know what it reminds me of now?
Free softsynth plugins!!
Rest assured most of these are not "pirated" but can be downloaded FOC, but the similar thing is many of us (I'm guilty of this too) stuff our PCs with VSTs and the likes (just like those days when we stuffed the PCs with pirated s/w) and, at the end, find that we DON'T USE them. Only keep them like collectors! :P

Sometimes (like now!) I have to remind myself that I'd want to be a USER not a COLLECTOR!

*sigh* Human nature?

looks like I'm reminded as well, for the past five years, I collected
some hardware... errr... not cheap
but most are used gear at 1/2 - 1/3
of the retail price, only a handful are
bought first hand .... now better start
using them to create music than let them
collect dust and rot ??? !!

Fedex just delievred my Prosamples CDs,
better start using them...

Ha,ha! No need lah. Most of the time, you can use some of the things some of the time, but not all things all the time, right?
I've resigned my vintage synth setup to "collectors" status already, since never USE but no reason to sell either.

well... errr.. it's quite dangerous if you don't use them and
feed them witn electricty. one of these days, it will not power
up at all.

just like any PC/servers/network equipment
in my day job, if you don't reboot or maintain
them, these computer equipment will go out of hand ???

Ok noted. Though I dunno if it's too late already, coz I have not turned them on for at least a couple of years!!
