Whats Cakewalk? And any software for recording for beginners

yeah the title pretty much sums it up. I'm eager to start recording into my computer but sound recorder doesent really help. Any cheap software to record on and prepare backing tracks?

What i suggest is if you want to learn some software...learn the better ones...then progress from there...don't learn something that is inferior in music production...cos most software function differently.

you can try Cakewalk producer or Nuenudo.

Both are used in most professional studios.
