What Pedals Makes your solo's/shredding sound smoother and nicer

I use a delay after my distortion box... makes my sound more full and 'dramatic'. an OD before your main drive can also give you loads of sustain and gain... :p

i use a randolf modded mt2 for main dist, then i boost solos using a diy modded ds-1 mit black label(tone and dist at 9oclock).. sometimes i add ce2(chorus) and verbzilla(reverb) to it :)

nah... just keep your main drive low and you're good to go.

I use this solo trick every week in Church to boost my sound and I don't really get any nasty feedback.

clean boost you mean. thats exactly what i do too. od volume maxed gain zero.

i thought u meant stack the main drive with an overdrive

Yeah, you can say that....

OD - Volume Maxed, Gain Zero

So it will be like:

Guitar --> OD --> Main OD/ Dist --> Amp

none for me. my amp takes care of the kick 8-)

however, the mild overdrive units/ clean boosters were conceived to enhance/ saturate signal displacements.

Theres this effect called the practice pedal. Can't be bought anywhere, gotta build it yourself, everyday practice 2 hours. Then the pedal will appear out of thin air.

the EQ pedal isn't a booster unit per se. yes it does some boosting function but it has more to do with frequency management.

tubescreamer to boost either your amp's drive or a nice distortion into a preferably clean high headroom amp(like the JC-120). With this setup you can match the tones normally provided by 4 channel high gain amplifiers.

Sum of the parts.

For a shred thing...

If you got a guitar with very low output pickups - so what if you got a raging, thrashing high gain amp? There might not be enough "push" & compression from the guitar (pickups) to drive the amp hard enough for the standard shred vibe/tone.

So maybe you got to drop in an overdrive to kick the amp harder.
This concept can be applied to pedals.

Or, maybe you already have a guitar with hot-enough pickups - your guitar alone might be enough to drive the amp into shred-able territory.

Add chorus/delay to taste after that.

Lol, effects and making music is similar like cooking.

Mix/Add things to taste... too much and its too overbearing, too little and there's just no kick.
