Atheist not technical? You kidding me? Are we talking about the same band here? Piece of Time, Unquestionable Presence & Elements? What not technical about them? They were excellent musicians, masters of thier tools. In fact they were the pioneers of technical death. Then you see bands like Cynic and Death following.

Yeah they were amongst the 1st death metal bands. Earlier albums were straight death but later became more technical due to Atheist's influences. Atheist were 1st in technical death I believe.
