GWAR is thrash? no shiat! long live Balsac!
Out of the Big Four of Thrash Metal i like megadeth the best, even though the mustaine nasal vocals are an acquired taste. A bit more melodic than slayer, not as fluffy as anthrax and a better version of metallica.
But it's all good shit in the end.

Mortal Sin's Mayhemic Destruction blows me. A band from the land of the kangaroos. One of their guitarist left before the second album, I think his name is Krstn or something like that. His sharp guitar sound was replaced by a new guy and their second album, though still ok, is just another thrash offering. After that, don't know what happened to them.

then comes Megadeth, pre-black album Metallica, Exodus, Armored Saint and Death Angel. here's one band i haven't seen mentioned yet, no one here listen to Wargasm??
since we have so many thrash metal bros here, anyone interested in trading CDs? i'm looking for some stuff like Exhorder, Onslaught, Mortal Sin, early Flotsam & Jetsam. maybe we can start a thread of who has what and exchange?

hmm.. not many mentioned bands like dark angel, coroner, artillery (danish thrash), forced entry.. there are still more! overkill quite overrated.. how about hirax (the band with the afro vox), annihilator (canadian thrash gods with jeff waters), holy moses (female fronted thrash).. i can go on.
thrash is my favourite metal genre so sorry i cant really have a definite favourite but i'll reply and give comments on some of the replies/questions you guys gave
not many into early sepultura also?.. as for suicidal tendencies, i would say they're a band who evolved. they were primarily a hardcore punk band early on and they ventured into thrash metal. as for the dude wondering about voivod. they too evolved over the years.. their early stuff they had traces of motorhead and had a punk and thrash stature. killing technology was quite forward-thinking styled thrash to me. then they ventured to the prog heavy metal classification.
bam! dont worry flotsam and jetsam re-releasing that album. ill prolly get it. one of the thrash classics with the song "fade to black". guys, early metal church was cool. check out sabbat (uk band with andy sneap) i think they were a good band too (raw thrash). i think mr rory above mentioned some underrated thrash bands too! check it out la guys- there are so many good thrash bands!
