hi bros, this is my efx chain:

Korg Pitch Black>>> MXR 6 band EQ>>> Signa Comp compressor>>> Xotic BB plus>>> G2D Creamtone>>> Line 6 DL4>>> Analogman Analog Delay

All my pedals are true bypass if i am not wrong.I tried them individually and the signal is fine.Is it my power supply or my patch cables?I use a daisy chain with a one spot and TYMC patch cables

HELP!

Define sucking? Tone suck or sucky tone?

The DL-4 is well known for making your tone sound more sterile (hence the tone suck)..

Otherwise, it may be the fact your board is true bypass.. Too much cable going through without a buffer..

i dont understand ur question "what is sucking"..

what pedals in ur chain suck?

or all true bypass and u're worried ur tone is getting sucked cos of that. is the dl4 true bypass? i dont rmb it being..

correct me if i'm wrong but true bypass won't mean there won't be tone sucking. try using a A/B switch, it might help.

How is the direct signal compared when the EFX chain is inserted?

Speaking of the korg pitchblack, Don't you think this unit has some issues? i used to own one and i noticed that it's not really accurate.
:)

sucking sucking,

why are we talkng about tone sucking when theres no mentioned of the degradation of the sound in general(that means can hear it with our hearing), with the pedals in "off" status..

anyway, the dl4 doesnt really degrade the sound at all. Spent years on stock one, cant say it rob tone bad. Same dl4 was modded years later for bypass issue and some other extras. The mods have more to do when the pedal is on instead of the usual non trub bypass suck my tone issue.

anyway, in short, if we cant even mentined bout any changes/degradation of the sound in the pedals chain, then theres prolly nothing to talk bout tone sucking.

The MXR IIRC is not true bypass.

Either way, I don't really think true bypass really matters, you might actually be a good idea to have a good buffer somewhere in your chain.

And to the TS, your tread nor topic really describes your problem accurately enough for us to help you.

sorry i meant that when i compared my original guitar tone without any efx to the one with my effects. there seems to be a loss of tone and volume drop . i removed the mxr eq already but the prob still persists.

my bad abt the unclear title. i was too eager to post it
