Agreed What Levan did was immature, stupid and totally uncalled for. I dunno what's between him and James but jus bcos u've made it big doesn't mean u can insult ppl in public like that. As a neutral, i can understand what James did. And perhaps if Levan were to be allowed back, he might feel that he's gotten away with it, and that's perhaps why he's been banned. Peace ppl.
Hello!
Just to make it clear
The recent ban happened one day
BEFORE the show, not during, not after, not because of. And just as James own this forum, he doesn't own another person's mouth, mind, or mentality. But I believe that will give an insight into the situation as to what fueled the situation.
There are a good number of people cheesed off with James.
They just don't post here anymore so you might never hear their words.
But think back about a few years ago and you'll realize that SOFT is reaching a slow gradual decline. Maybe not because of James, but it is. (I'm not saying it's the fault of James because I know he has put a lot into it)
Yet despite Levan's disagreements with James, for whatever reasons,
he has CONSISTENTLY posted helpful messages for other SOFTies to read. A search will reveal this to be true. Is this a hallmark of somebody who thinks he's a rockstar? What possible benefit could he gain from coming back to SOFT to post long articles that do not directly relate to him? It's not as if SOFT is generating any income for any of us.
That does not validate his choice to tell James off onstage, but it does give some insight knowing that he got banned just BEFORE the performance, after posting about helping other bands if they need it. And what led to the reaction. It takes two hands to clap after all.
It's easy to see and think and react to an immediate situation, especially emotionally. But really think about it. Think about the incidents which fueled it and led to this.
And anyway, with the launch of a new website, it will be a nice alternative isn't it? Not dissing James' efforts and opinions of course. But alternatives will always benefits the neutral party the most.
I for one welcome a site that encourages alternative views and not just the views of the moderator. Countless SOFTies have gotten warnings for the strangest things I'm sure.
As for all the keyboard warrior tough talking, I do not see how that can be constructive in any way for ANY side - not even James (it will make SOFT look bad) But come to think of it, why are threats permitted on SOFT but innuendos not? Hmmm...
And it's funny how all of you only come out when something like this happens, but when he was still around here, nothing.
Gotta admit though, the drama is fun to read
