What gauge do you use?

Not sure if there's another thread on this but so far I haven't seen any. So yeah, what gauges are you using on your electrics and acoustics right now? And why did you choose that gauge?

I'm actually asking because I'm considering going back to 9-42s on my electric guitar for better tonal clarity, but I still like the nail-biting power of 10-46s. So yeah, maybe you could help me out here too. And of course share your preferred gauges!

By now you should know what gauge I use and why. Let's hear some!

daddario 46-10 gauge: Coz its cheap.

Tone is not important, i so rock that the geetar will abide by how i want it to sound like. If it refused to sound like what i want. That geetar is useless.

daddario 46-10 gauge for me, coz its cheap and best thing since sliced bread.

acoustic? real man play electric! Electric geetar that will make deities weep, lightning and thunder strike!

and i say again, daddario 46-10 gauge.

coz its cheap!

i apologised if the above sound offensive or queer. Topic like this make me excited

daddario 46-10..

same for me. its the cheapest and the most worth while. tried many different brands from elixir to dean markley all dont justify their prices.

10s for me cos 9s feel like crap..

I cant hear the tonal difference between 10 and 9, I'm tone deaf..but at least I can feel the difference when if comes to string bending.

Err.. Gauge 10s.. DR Pure Blues.. Favourite is the Hi-Beams series but Davis stop bringing em in..
Slightly ex, simply for the snap back feeling and brightness you get for DRs..

daddrios 10 to 46 here as well, used to use 9's then uped to 10!

on a strat, frm 9's chaning to 10s could hear the difference,

on a humbucker equiped guitar, there is no diff that i could hear

I used to use 09s cause that was the standard guage strung on stock Fenders. Then I switched to 10s cause 09s felt light...

My guitar's now tuned to D and 10s felt too light, so I'm using 11s now which are great, just that I can't find D'addarios 11s in packs of 10, can't save as much now when buying in bulk..

i either use ernie ball or D'addario. dependslar. coz diff shop, diff price. i used to use 9's, but found out that it's kinda light. n i like prefer to have a more "meaty" sound.

Thinking of using 11's, but not sure can my guitar neck take it or not ( n my fingers also)
