oh my.. that boss pq 4!! is gonna be extinct soon..

parametric EQs are so useful, wonder why every1 stopped making them.. i use my pod x3's para eq. good and cheap enough!

really meh? just because the old Muffs are generally fuzzy sounding doesn't mean that the Metal Muff is a fuzz. The whole metal muff series sounds to me like any good old chugga chugga distorto mondo chugga chugga friendly pedals.

Anyway the circuit of a regular Big Muff is not even anything close to the venerable Fuzzface which is definitely the grandaddy of fuzz.

Personally, I feel that the Metal Muff IS fuzzy. And I'm saying this not because Wiki says so, or Subbie says so in his review . It has this trebly "hair" character to that I make myself to like; me being someone who is not a fan of fuzz basically. Can chug, of course can chug, but the character of the chugging just... not my type.

But if it's not a fuzz, then it's not a fuzz. My mistake. I'm basing my info on what I read and hearing from the pedal itself.

Of course, if you ask me to open the circuitry and show you the features as to what makes it a fuzz, then of course I lose la. I did post a thread about finding info on what gives the character of a pedal its tone, as a result got a lot of info from Softies. Still learning so cannot comment much.

hmmm.... yeah its quite hard sometimes to say that this pedal is a fuzz/distortion/overdrive etc and many characteristics tends to overlaps one another.

there are a million and one variation of fuzz from sick chewy sticky fuzz to big wooly germanium based fuzz to sounds nothing like a useful pedal but an oscillating mofo of a pedal fuzz and then there are those octave up kill yer dog's hearing fuzz.

Man... one just can't get enough of fuzz. Sorry if I'd voiced my opinion of the metal muff too strongly. Its as valid as yours, just an opinion, I'm not right nor are you wrong! I gotta use more emoticons lah haiyorrr

Hahaha.. It's ok, bro Edder bro. Your posts always got validity one. So I always try to dig out what you are trying to say. No offence given or taken

But yeah, hard to tell leh sometimes. If you cook with vegetable oil, or corn oil, or Esso oil, as long as you like, can order many many d liao!

Just be aware that the Metal Muff is essentially a fuzz pedal, whilst the Beta Aivin is a metal distortion.

It IS? I know the Big MUFF Pi was one... But the MM was clearly a metal distortion pedal when I tried a few out last time...

Boss Metalzone FTW!!!!! and a big bowl of Nestle Koko Crunch with full cream fresh milk.... non of those silly low fat stuff. Keep it real yo!

mmm i dun really trust metalzone anymore.. honestly after 5 years using it.. i now believe that its sounds fake(the distortion though).. try this china brand.. Moen Violent metal.. see how it sounds like.
